Low Snow Years.....Alta + Bird??'s

Headed to Utah for the first time the first week of March. I look forward to it.

Couple of questions.....
This being a low snow year for Alta and Snowbird, what areas of the mountains are effected in a negative way?? Is the Cirque skiable?? Devils Castle?? Glory Hole?? The headwalls in Mineral Basin skiers right?? West Rustler??

During low snow conditions such as now, with a 70" base, are the mountains skiable?? Is it just the cliffs and extereme areas that are "off limits"??

Thanks for any replies and input!!

Why dont you go look at the TRs posted recently from alta and bird.

Everything you would want to ski at the bird is skiable. Only 2 places I can think of that arent skiable cause they are closed is north chute and Carbonate area(Get Serious Chutes, Jones Ave, and the snake pit).

wacker.....I look at all the TR's that are posted. And I appreciate yours.

So what you are telling me is that, yes, the Cirque is skiing well and Mineral Basin is skiing well. Any info on Alta??

Cirque is skiing well traverse in is getting better but boney. Mineral is good, but remember mineral can turn to hardpack and chunky crud after a warm day

How about Road to Provo and Regulator Johnson....good conditions??
I skied those two on 2/10. Road to Provo was in good shape. Regulator Johnson was skiable, with some slick spots and some thin coverage. There were much better choices at the time. But, Snowbird got about 15" of fairly dense snow on 2/11-2/12. That undoubtedly helped. My guess is that Regulator Johnson will be fine if they get fresh snow around the time of your trip. If it has been more then a few days, with the wind up there & the sun, you might look elsewhere on the mountain.

I appreciate the replies.

How about Alta.
Not a lot of information in the trip report forum posted on Alta, as of late.
