There are ssooo many threads here about mounting + or - without any real explanations as to why, the size of the ski or the size of the foot or even the size of the rider.
the following responses seem to be standard regardless of the ski;
"I heard you should..."
"I like mine at ...."
"You should mount behind the line if you like powder." (it's amazing how many people recommend that for a powder ski.)
"You should mount forward if you like the park." (It's even more amazing how many people recommend that for a park ski.)
anyway, lusdawg, just trying to save you a thread-debate that will ultimately lead you to more confusion. Congrats on the boards, they have quite a following. I'll let the legend riders comment on angles and mounts now.
Samurai, that's just retarded. It's a great questions with a base in real wordl knowledge that some but not a lot know. There are skis people actually ski who's center lines just aren't right. Big Troubles and Mojo 90s...well you gotta mount them back 2cm...that's what any decent skier who has ever skied them knows.
Legend 8800s, same deal with the old line...it's too far forward, you gotta go back 1.5-2cm (at least)....you need to know what model year you have to mount these properly. The new line is 1.5cm forward. These skis just flat out ski better at the new "consumer adjusted" center lines.
lusdawg, if you have the new graphic, the line should be good. If it's the old graphic it'd pay to have someone measure for you to confirm. I had these and can tell you that the old line caused the most tip dive I've ever experienced in a ski ever.
