Try posting something other than classifieds - I think that's what he's getting at. It looks like the usual fare of interent scam ads, that's all. I mean, come on...you have to admit it looks a tad shady when one person comes in looking for all these skis, ya know? : It's always nice to get to know people first.

for christ sake people. I understand that I am new to epic ski. That is only because I have just heard incredible stories from friends. Now because I am not an ebay ski supporter yet because I havent donated $25, does that make me a shady person? I love to ski, I am trying very hard to make a small ski school in my area, so Im am looking for a few great deals on whatever skiis come up (of that I listed).
I have been a member on ebay for years and I understand that this site can offer better deals at times so this is why I have come here. Again, I am very sorry if I have offended people or have sounded like a "sketchy buyer". I am not I assure. But dont dare start accussing me of scamming...you dont know me so before you start to make those acusations, why not sell to me and find out what an easy-to-deal with person I am. I love t ski, and I love finding new exciting cheap gear. Period

Probably not exactly what you are looking for, but if it's jut for a ski school and you'll have a lot of Level 1, they won't know the difference..
Joyful, Slow down, Nobody said you were a scam artist it just sounded a lot like scams that appear on and off around here and other gear sites. Chill Understand that some of us have been burned or know others who have been burned by ski related scams. If you are sincere I see no problems. Perhaps you should have said something about starting a ski school. Who directed you to Epic? is it a long standing member? have them come in a vouch that you are for real.
Are you will to pay useing Pay Pal?
I have a couple of skis for sale see my post in this Forum. The skis i have offered are a good deal. I have bought and sold skis on epic for many years without any problems.
Joyful,

I don't have any skis to offer, but I will ask a very sincere question. If you a starting a little ski school, why all the long boards?

One of the last things I would want a first day student showing up with would be a pair of RX-8's in a 180. This ski, for instance, is very popular with the instructors here and most ski it in 160-165.

Tried to get to know you, but you sure didn't put a lot in your profile. Someone on the up-and-up would understand why this looks fishy, and work to resolve it.

Others would start attcking those who are skeptical.

What catagory did you just fit into..........................................

ok lets see...I will update my profile soon so I dont look "fishy"...
and in reply to KenE...I own over 18 pairs of skiis...cheaper and shorter skiis for that matter. As for my colleage, he owns over 20 pairs to show and try out for our upcoming school. We do not own any high-end skiis or large lengths for that matter. Try attacking me in another way without being incorrect again. Thanks

Give us some Idea what your price range is?
One thing you should be careful about, especially if this is for a ski school.. the 'He got better skis than me' people.. you may think it's only kids, but If you put one adult in a set of Older beginner skis and someone else on a pair of Fischer RX8, and they are both paying the same amount for the lesson (and skis?) you may have people that will complain. Then you have the whole Public Relations stuff to deal with as well...

Your best bet is to pick a set of beginner, intermediate, and lower-level expert skis... Buy about 20-40 pair of each in a full range of sizes and put them on appropriate skis for their level.

Just a suggestion..

Actually hydrogen I understand exactly what you mean. I own a few duplicates of beginner skiis and my colleague owns a few intermediates. I was looking to buy a few better models (which ever and whoever replied to my post here)...So if I list that I am looking for a Fischer RX8, and I get 3 or 4 replies with decent prices, then I will try and buy them all. The cheaper thing to do would probably buy in bulk from the companies themselves but I thought Id give it a try on Epic.
Someone may pop up... but I don't see many people wanting to get rid of their RX8s

If you'd have to buy an excessive amount from the company for them to sell to you, you may be able to find a Fischer dealer and see if they will give you a good discount if you buy multiple pairs. Your best bet will be the shop that has the largest stock at the end of the season.. they'll be more likely to sell very close to wholesale to swing a quick, decent size profit and clear out for next year's gear.

Personally, I don't have anything to offer and don't see many others replying (in a positive fashion, at least), so I thought i'd throw another idea your way.

I offered my Fischer Worldcup RC's at a very good price (below ebay for a good condition RC) and all I got was a low-ball counter-offer.

Beyond this, I was sent links to a Fischer Worldcup GS (the FIS model) selling on eBay with a request for an explanation as to why he should not buy this ski instead of mine .

So after explaining that the GS is not the same as the RC, I got another link to another GS model on eBay, with the same question : .

So I replied with a do not keep asking me about the other peoples skis and he sent me a defensive reply " Don't expect me to buy from you..."

I guess a guy with $200 is the most important person in the world.

Like I said before, A Troll.

Its funny how ignorant people are. Barrettscv did indeed offer his Fischer WorldCup RCs, and when I asked politely for a picture of his skis (since the RCs are sold in different models, different looks by year) he told me I would need to wait a week.
As eager as I was to find out what they exactly looked like, I sent him a link from ebay not knowing if that was his model. He replied no so then again I tried to find a different looking pair, the next link I sent he told me to stop bothering him with nonsense ebay adds of skiis that are not his...If he wanted to cooperate and was looknig to sell his skiis to me, why did I have to wait a week? Then again, if he wanted to sell them and I was so eager to find out what exact year and type they were, why did he have to be so incredibly bold and disrespectful? Usually when youre looking to sell something, you are polite and would offer any help to find out what skiis they are. Obviously not this person...once again, I am called a Troll or some other idiotic term for judging a buyer who is curious and wants answer on what I might buy.
Michael - take your attitude somewhere else...thats my last warning

Attention all Epic Ski members and supporters -
Please do not send ignorant, judgemental, name-calling, trash-talking, and other cruel posts in this add. If you do, you will be reporter to epic ski for harrassment. When trying to form a ski school while buying equipment does not require any forms of personal attacking and opionated statements. Like I said, this is my last warning to all of you who just seem to like to fight online. If any of you wish to discuss this matter further, or make personal offers for the skiis I have listed...I will be more than happy to talk. (***.***.****)
Thanks

Ryan, you are not making friends here, and that's the easiest way to connect with those who might be able to help you with things like this. Taking on long-time, intelligent, and generous EpicSki members like barrettscv isn't going to endear you to those who would otherwise be inclined to do deals with you.

Furthermore, as an administrator here at EpicSki, I also have my questions about your intentions and reading all of your posts hasn't enlightened me much. So, you might want to consider that you may not be communicating in the way that you intend. The questions asked here and the fears expressed are honest and not "harassing."

The idea for your friends who are members here to come in and vouch for you makes sense, as well.

BTW, the Swap and Sale forum is a privilege for members of the EpicSki community. As a result, this thread may be removed once it has been reviewed by the moderation team.
This thread really shows why this site has adopted guidelines that limit participation in the swap forums to established members and supporters of the site. I don't think the moderation team will do anything to remove the thread as it is clearly self-moderating, does not violate site terms and poses no real threat. Joyfulnoise, all I can suggest is perhaps you should participate in the forums, become known as a skier and someone with a reputation that makes members want to do business with you. Since the swap forum relies a great deal on trust, I think your reception here (reflecting some suspicion) is understandable.
