Earlier this Fall there was discussion on creating a new Beginners Forum. I did some work on this and was wondering what happened?
Anyone know? Anyone know who cares ? Anyone know who obviously but a damper on this idea?

Still think it was a good idea!

It is still a work in progress. We are stepping up the effort to get this online. The team is finalizing some of the content and we hope to get this up soon.
The fact that we are skiers and this is our busiest time of the year makes it difficult the get everyone on the same page. It is our intent to make this available soon .
I would like to thank Pete No. Idaho and Ant for their contributions. Their efforts will not be wasted.

Garry, I have seen your work there and all the contributions from the team. Looks like you are almost ready to roll this out.

It's in the East! 18" of snow on Friday, 3" of new snow again last night, highs near 34, low of 2 tonight, warming to 34 tomorrow.....and the resorts are closing.:

I think a beginner forum is a great idea. As a full time instructor and staff trainer, I know all too well the obstacles beginners face. Let me know if there is anything I can help with.

PS: Bonni, the snow has been awesome here too. Hope we get more of the same.

A beginners forum would be very good to give some balance. Idaho Pete is clearly onto something.

There is nothing on Epic for neophytes.

Many posts are fairly esoteric and there often seems to be an unwelcoming attitude to people with less experience - evidenced in the disparaging idea of a 'gaper', which I read - rightly or wrongly - as applying to all beginners.

So, well done that man for redressing the balance ! If Epic is a forum based on tuition you ignore newcomers to the sport at your peril.

Incidentally, it seems fairly quiet here for a good while now. I know there were issues with speed of response and I imagine a lot of folk are out skiing but even so...

Well, lookee there--->http://forums.epicski.com/forumdisplay.php?f=56

Thanks to all who helped with this, and especially to BillA and GarryZ for the focus that they have had on this so long. Be sure to check the post for the list of all those involved... Thanks, everyone!

Look in the forum listings. Not locked . Post away.

By the way, I helped start this after Bonni posted asking if this could be possible. The seed was planted and we just nurtured it and now we must help it grow.

Nice idea Bonni . :
