I don't know that I'm giving you totally right information, but this is my impression from having worked the courses as a volunteer...
I *believe* that the day-skiing public and the spectators are completely separated by security and fencing. I don't think there is any way to easily (meaning pass security) get from the spectator areas to the lifts. I think you would probably have to take the spectator shuttle buses back down the mountain to the parking areas and then get on a day-skier shuttle to go back up the hill. That might be a long and painful enough undertaking and might not be worth the effort.
Also, as a day-skier, it is very difficult to get very close to the race courses or see much of anything.
Again, I don't know all this for sure, but that's what it kind of looked like.
