Motels near Squaw in Tahoe?

Hi all,

I'm up against the wall here trying to stay as close to Squaw as possible while not at the actual resort (too expensive).

Any suggestions? I've noticed the Best Western up in Truckee is not too far but was thinking something's gotta be closer down 89.

Thanks in advance,

James

I stayed at the Best Western last year and it was well worth it. The drive is not bad at all even if there is a big dump. The free breakfast is awsome! Eggs, omlets, waffles it is like a full buffet. A Pizza Hut in the hotel, free internet, hot tub a great little bar. You can't go wrong with that place.

That sounds good Truckee? or Tahoe City?

there are no motels between truckee and squaw. at truckee there is BW - holiday inn express and a travelodge in tahoe city. there is River ranch inn -
next to alpine. which is closer. but they may be expensive.

also look on vrbo.com - to see if you can find a room. there is a lady - who advertizes on vrbo - who has a home in squaw and she rents rooms out. i can't remember the name or number - sorry.

There are motels in Tahoe City and Tahoe Vista. A further drive but cheaper motels in Kings Beach. Even further, the ultimate cheapee, the Tahoe Biltmore in Crystal Bay.

Truckee, about 2 miles from the entrance to Northstar.
