I have a pair of the verse 10 at 180 cm. I don't use them anymore.
Before I knew anything about skis, I just went to the ski store and rented for a few seasons and then decided to get my own skis. The store guy put me in the verse 10 as an intermediate skier. I have seen folks in verse 10 rental skis.
I believe that this truely is an intermediate ski. It is pretty good for groomers. However, it suffers when you want to work any deep snow or pow. Now, really good skiers can ski deep snow in anything, but us mere mortals do better with wider skis. Without looking, I believe that my Verse 10's had a waist width of 74mm. I now prefer about 90mm with a noticable increase in stability and deep snow/pow capability.
I found that I progressed out of the Verse 10 in one or two seasons. The Verse 10 works well... it's just that some other ski could be a lot better.
If you are an intermediate skier in the West where we get deeper snow, then I think you might be better off renting or demoing skis rather than buying the Verse 10 and then wanting to move on to a more expert ski.
