Scored some killer DH boards today

I’ve been looking for a couple years for some old school long boards. Although I enjoy the technology of the parabolics I miss the stability of some cm’s under my feet. I was given some Salomon Equipe 9100’s with 220 lushes cm’s. They came with Salomon 977 with deflex plates. My guess is these bad boys are pretty close to the space ship Colimbia. My question is. I’ve never tried the d-flex plates (Derby). Can anyone recommend if I should take the plates off or just take em up mid week and give them a go?

leave them on. besides absorbing vibration, it's impossible to get the glue off.
