National Weather outlook for Incline Village Tahoe:

For South Lake Tahoe

For Kirkwood:

For Homewood:

Alpine Meadows/Squaw Area:

So it looks like a coin toss between snow and/or rain at the moment.

We need to hear from some actual locals.

Can any locals keep me updated? I'm flying out there on Friday and planned on skiing Sat, Sun, and Mon. Also, with the conditions less than stellar, where would you recommend we go?

Hang on Pete, get your powder skis out cause the NW is gonna get a blast this weekend and throughout next week. It is aweful nice of you to sympathize with the less fortunate though! It's gonna be pretty wet pow here but that's ok. Wax up the fat boards!

Is Tahoe corn in April bad?:

Hope

Mattitude, are you for real? That would be nice, this rain sucks ruining all that good white stuff out there. Missed you guys in BC, you'd really like Fernie, some awesome terrain.

it looks like the system comming later this weekend should be a more polar system hopefuly bringing colder temps. The best bet right now are the higher elevations. I would go heavenly or sqauw. I'm not sure however these resorts may be getting rain on the bottom half. Does anyone know if this is true?

He's pulling your chain Pete. It was dust on crust or 6" of windblown and then ICE and 6" windblown and then ICE.:

Believe you me, I'd have love to been there! It's been pretty dry here all month. (Jan thru present)
There is some cold air lurking behind all that moisture coming ashore. It's been raining a bit here but still snowing on the mountain. Only an inch of new today. I'm sure you'll be getting some good stuff! I hope the Tahoe crew gets some goods too!

No, its a fellow Bear. Can you guess who? I am in the middle pict. I usually do most of the picture taking. I like to wander the hill with my camera around my neck like a tourist at Disneyland.
