Damed deer get all drunk, jump on their boards and ... wouldn't expect any less of them.

Where I live, you see them "sleeping it off" along side the road all the time.

Who has right away on that?

The deer failed to look uphill prior to entering a trail. Ticket pulled!

He's lucky it twerent' one of them "swamp donkys" ...

That's what happens when you go stag to the hill.

So why go skiing when I could mix my two favorite sports?

Except the code also clearly states that it's the uphill persons responsibility to avoid when overtaking the downhill person...I guess the skier was therefore skiing out of control.

"Is the deer alright"?

The family of the deer has retained the law firm of Dewey, Cheetam and Howe. It is anticipated that a law suit will be filed; phone calls to the family were not returned.

As of last night, officials still have not been able to locate the deer who is thought to have possibly suffered from amnesia and may still be wandering the woods in the area.

My pet peeve is deer that sit right in the middle of the trail, especially right off the lift. At least move off to the side to get your hooves together. I like to spray em with snow as I go by to piss em off.

Soon as I read the thread title I thought, "Probably happened in Maine"

Too bad it wasn't a tourist...:

Farmington student .... lower than a tourist on a "Mainer" scale of 1 to 10.

I am trying to come up with some puns..but it is just too ugly

Something like:

"This is bucking the trend of snowboarders causing injuries to skiers...."

This almost happened to me once, but with a moose instead of a deer. I was at Killington early season a couple years back. There was some early snow, so a decent amount of stuff was open. I cruised on down some trail and when I crossed over a rollover -- there was a moose standing there. He was about two medium-radius turns away, pawing away at the snow, looking for food, I guess. I scooted around behind the moose; I don't think it ever really noticed I was there. I was real glad he wasn't standing a whole lot further uphill though. I can see the headlines "skier runs into moose".

I figured it happened in PA. We get deer on the trails all the time. Especially on closed trails with no snow on them. I watched a guy in our NASTAR course, probably 10 years ago, come about a foot from intersecting a deer while going full-out in the gates. Coulda been ugly. We usually get whole families of deer on the trails. A couple years ago, while skiing across a connector trail (very flat but narrow), another instructor came within about 5 feet of a family of 12 deer that crossed the trail. We even had an albino deer for years. From what I hear, that one is gone, but there's another (younger) albino out there now.

The deer will probably ask for a jury trial and a change of venue to deer valley.
