I'm thinking of getting a slalom type carving ski to complement my 168cm Atomic R:Ex. Where there's no fresh snow I like to spend a fair amount of time in the bumps. My turn preference is rapid fire slalom turns but also occasionally like to let the big GS turns really rip on the groomers. I like a ski that is responsive, energetic and has great snow feel. I don't like damp, smooth skis. I'm 5'7" 150lbs and somewhere between a PSIA level 8 and level 9 skier. From everything I've read it seems like either the RX8 or this year's Contact 10 would fit the bill best. Can someone compare the two? Also, what length do you think would be best for me, 160ish or 165ish? Any other skis I should be considering?
