Race Ski Blowout Sale!

I am trying to get rid of any and all remaining race skis from the inventory. All of the skis listed are new. Basically the price across the board is $199 per pair, except for the 07' skis or as noted ('07 skis are being sold at cost). This is a great chance to get a new pair of race skis for $200-350 per set. Here is what I have left:

2005 Elan Skis: $199 per pair

GSX Stock 176/182/188 cm
SLX Stock 155cm
SX Pro (flat, non-Fusion) 160cm

2005/2006 Head race skis: $199 per pair (bindings additional, typically $100-150 per set)

iGS RD 180/185cm
iRACE 21m ski 175/180cm
iRACE 17m ski 177cm ($399 w/binding)
i-Slalom 160/165/170cm
i-SL CHIP 160/165cm
2006 iXRC 1200 (same as current Supershape Speed): $249

2007 Fischer
WC RC 175cm $510 w/Flowflex binding
WC SC 165cm $510 w/Flowflex Binding

All skis come with full warranty, unlike skis purchased on Ebay (unless purchased from a legitimate shop, the warranty is void on Ebay sales) PM me if you have any questions. As always, I can special-order your skis if you so require. Give me a call at 541-593-2453 or PM me if interested. Thanks!

For GS, the 176 or 182 GSX would be hard to beat. Mount it with a soft plate if this is his 1st GS ski. They both come flat, or the iGS RD would be good, although a stronger ski with the VIST plate. The iRACE is also a great option if this is his 1st race ski, in 180cm. For slalom, if he needs a 165, the WC SC would be a good choice. If only 155cm will suffice (depends on where he is racing) the SLX is an incredible ski, softer options would be the iSL Chip and i-Slalom in the longer lengths, as they are more along the lines of the WC SC.

Do you have the 1200 SW in 163?
Do you have a recommendation for a GS-type carver for Bachelor out of these? I'm currently on 165 Fischer WC SCs and my wife really enjoys them too. It would be nice to have a second pair of groomer carvers so that we don't have to trade off.

I'm 6'1", 190 lbs, and I like the edge hold of the SCs. I'm curious about a slightly longer radius ski to complement it...thanks!

The Fischer WC RCs are a blast. I had a pair in 175cm and I pretty much skied them into the dirt (it took awhile though- those things are pretty beefy for a race carver).

I just picked up the Elan SX Pro skis from him for a fellow racer, and if the rest of the transaction goes as well as it did on the phone, I'll be a very satisfied customer. I may have trouble giving up the SXs when they arrive, though...

Hi Scott, I bought a piar of im88s from you last year. I was wondering is you had anymore 1.sl chips left. Also how much different is that ski than the volkl racetiger sl race stock and the head supershape. Thanks

I haven't skied the SL race stock (only the standard I believe, it was whatever the regional rep had at the trade show). Compared to the standard Racetiger, the iSL Chip is a little quieter, a little more stable in big arcs, but not as lively. The iSL Chip definitely feels more "focused" than the Supershape and maybe a tad stiffer laterally. The SS is more versatile, but I would say that the iSL Chip is likely better on hard snow and in the course, as it feels a bit more powerful. It has been a year since I have skied it though, and I never did try a 170cm (the length I skied the SS in).

I do have the iSL left in stock (as well as the sister iSlalom, same ski but w/o Chip) in several sizes. I hope you are enjoying the iM82's-I assume you were able to get them mounted?

For a GS carver, there is the 17m Head iXRC 1200 (either 2006 or 2007, what you would like would depend on personal preferences) as well as the WC RC. Or the RIPstick, which is probably my personal favorite (more energy than the Head or Fischer, but still really stable at speed). The 2006 iXRC 1200 and WC RC are OK in the course too. If you like the SC, you will almost surely like the RC. If you are around, you can take out a pair of RIPsticks and iXRC 1200's, as I have them both as a demo.

Hi Scott,

What are the dims on the SX pro? Is it the same ski as the slx pro fusion, but without the binding system?

I'm looking for a $200 SL ski for 50% race training and 50% hardsnow freeskiing. I have the 175cm WC RC but want a quicker turning ski with the same performance. I'm 225 lbs and will accept a 160 to 170cm size. I have bindings, bit will a consider the heads w/ the Tyrolia CP plates.

Thanks,

Michael

HI,

SX's are sold to Alaska Mike! Sorry. But, the SX would be a great ski for what you describe, although it might be more like a 70 race/30 freeski model. It is a powerhouse that comes very close to the SLX WC in terms of power and precision. I mainly sold them to good Masters skiers. As I understand it, they didn't sell well in the US, and will be pre-season orders only (as well as the GSX Fusion Pro) from now onward. The distributor won't be stocking it as an inventory item.

The Head iSL Chip is close to what you describe, and is a little friendier as a freeski (I have it in a 160cm). It is definitely more along the lines of a 50/50 ski for good skiers. They do come pre-mounted with the CP13, but I have a binding that will work on there (Freeflex 14 rebadged as Elan binding) for $120. I also have the iSlalom (same as the iSL Chip, but without the Chip) in 160 and 170. In 170, it is a ripping freeski, and is more hard-snow focused in 160cm (since you have a 175 RC, the 170cm in any of these would likely be too much crossover). There is also the iSL RD, but that ski is a powerhouse, and it can be freeskied, but is more like an 80/20 ski. I have that in 161cm.

Are the 165 Fischer SC's still available or would consider 160's too? These are 'new' right?

The Elan SXs I ordered showed up today (good thing, because I delaminated my Fischers in the gates today), and I'm impressed. They got here really quick, packed well, and just as advertised. I buy a lot of skis online, and this was one of the best experiences I've had. I highly recommend them- support one of our own.

...and even though I ordered them for someone else, screw it, I'm keeping them. They just look like too much fun.

Since you haven't put these on your list, I assume that they're from this year's and are priced accordingly ? If not, well, it's tempting to say the least

Is the Head iSL Chip still available in 160cm? With bindings?:

Any more race skis left? :

Here is what I currently have left:

2006 iXRC 1200 SW (same as current Supershape Speed) $249 156/163/170
2006 iGS RD ski+VIST Plate 185cm $199
2006 WC iSL w/CP13 plate 160cm $199
2006 iRACE 21m ski 175cm w/CP13 $199

Elan
2005 SLX WC 155cm $179

Fischer:
2007 WC SC 165cm w/Flowflex binding $499
2007 WC RC 175cm w/Flowflex binding $499

If you have any racer friends that are looking for quality gear on the cheap, pass this along if you could! I need to get rid of this gear, and there are some smoking deals here. The SLX WC is especially an awesome smaller Mens and Ladies race ski (I used to own a pair, and they were amazing).

Is a binding available for the Elan SLX WC 155cm? If not, what binding can you put on it?

Bindings?

Do any of the skiis come with bindings?

I am particularly interested in the 2006 iXRC 1200 SW in 170 or 2006 iRACE 21m ski 175cm

Thanks.

I just picked up the 155cm Elan SLXs. The deal was just too good to let pass by. Next time I'm in the market, Dawgcatching is definitely on my speed dial. eBay is fine if you know what you're looking for and willing to gamble a little, but Dawgcatching is a full-service, sure bet.

By the way, I thought the Elan SXs would be a little soft in the gates, but they hold well and have a nice, smooth rebound that doesn't beat me up. Gotta love that. Thanks again.

requesting guidance on slalom ski selection

My situation is:49yrs old, good shape,6ft 200lbs,raced 4 years in college. Recently returned to adult racing league. I am attemting to find a slalom ski for adult racing, using in gates only. for baseline purpose.27 years ago I loved the omeglass in a 207,hated fischers and hexcels. Today i ski a K2 cross fire (2005) in a long lenth, its okay. I demo'd a pair of tigershark slalom skiis in a 164 lenth ,I think it was a 2007 model (bright yellow topskin). My impression was ski had modest level of rebound, pretty easy to stay centered through the fall line, and able to change the radius of turn easily by working the ski. It is the only current Slalom ski I have been on. I would have enjoyed a ski that would rebound or snap more when edge pressure released at end of turn. I was hoping you might recommend 4 or 5 slalom skiis to try out. Also a couple of quick questions. In todays world do the numbers used in refering to slalom skis e.i 12mm, mean the difference between tip and waist width?, Also in shape ski world is ability of ski to come on edge early more a function of sidecut or width at waist.? Thanks for reading this. I have really found your comments on this sight very usefull, thanks

Hey Dawg, I'd be interested in a pair of SLs. I've enjoyed both the Fischer World Cup SCs (I think) in 160 and the Nordica Dobermans in 165. I don't race, use SL skis for hard snow days. What would you recommend? How much would it cost to ship to my folks house back East, the slowest way, I'd be looking to use them next season anyway.
