The terms specifically state that you agree not to post material that is, "false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, hateful, harassing, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violates any law." These are the terms to which members have agreed to conform, and which informs their decision to join and participate on EpicSki. While the introduction of the EpicSki Lounge for Supporters provides an environment for the discussion of non-skiing topics and while a number of ski-related topics can become heated as well, EpicSki members and Supporters must comply with these terms.
Post and threads that do not comply may be edited or deleted at any time at the sole discretion of the EpicSki administrators and moderators.
If you witness any such posts or threads, the Terms and the team encourage you to contact the EpicSki team by e-mail, PM, or (the best option) by using the "Report Post" button at the upper right corner of every post (the one that looks like a triangle with an exclamation point in it) so that the EpicSki team can address is quickly, including reminding the poster(s) of the Terms and the expectations of the community.
While there has been some leeway in the Terms in an effort to be flexible and take into account the contributions of members and Supporters, the size and value of EpicSki to the community in general required a re-visiting of the Terms and a renewal of our commitment to them.
Please keep your posts in compliance with the Terms. Do not direct an attack at another member or Supporter. Focus on ideas and not people. The Terms will be strictly enforced and compliance will be judged solely by the EpicSki administrators and moderators.
While the Terms and Conditions for the use of this website are focused on non-commercial participation in the discussions in the EpicSki forums, there are also terms governing the use of the Private Message (PM) feature. The EpicSki Team reminds all members and supporters that threatening, derogatory or offensive private communications are an abuse of the PM feature. Persons engaging in such activities will have their PM privileges blocked or suspended and may themselves be suspended or banned from the website. In general, the privacy of PMs should be respected and they should not be posted to threads without the permission of the sender, but any PM that violates the terms should be forwarded to the administrators and/or moderators.
EpicSki is a welcoming place for intelligent conversation and debate about all things skiing; a place where differing ideas are welcome, new contributors invited to participate, and debate is energetic but civil.
Violations of the terms may result in temporary "time outs", temporary bannings, or permanent bannings, depending on degree of violation and history of the member or Supporter. It is not the preference of EpicSki to punish anyone, but it is the intent to maintain the integrity and environment of the site.
In addition, EpicSki is a private forum, membership is voluntary, and the team administering it has no public authority or governmental status. In any appropriate situation that comes to our attention, we will refer the matter to and cooperate fully with the public authorities in its resolution.
