Its ok Snow wise, Beaver Creek has a better base! Were heading up for the day today. If we do Vail I make sure to take some pics & post tonight for you.
Maybe some snow in the cast for Fri-Sat this week!
Word is the Pineapple Express is warming up!

I'm flying into Eagle. How does that work out if there's snow? I usually drive up from Denver and that's usually not a problem.
Also, what does a Pinapple Express mean? I assume it's basically the same as a NorEaster for us in the East. Lots of snow?
Thanks again for the response.

C.B. you"ll be fine on your trip flying into Eagle! Sorry we skipped Vail today. Vail is nice on a Powder day, but Beaver Creek is where we go more often. Vail is Vail, but BC is what we like! (I think the ladies that hang at Beaver Creek have BIGGER trust funds!)
Heres a few from today.....

Always a Good sign where there is still Snow left on the welcome sign!

Few more, Vail about 10 mins away, looked good from the Drive Bye!
#1 Little shot out at the Rose Bowl at BC.
Make sure to pack the Sunscreen (that will make it DUMP this weekend!)
27 degrees as we were passing Vail at 8:30 am,
#2 the Beav at 1pm facing SW,Good for the natural Tan!
Weather report claims the cold will be back by the weekend!
All in All a Nice Day! Did a few runs where no-body was on the trail when I was on it ! Thats one more reason to ski BC!
Hope to see you on the Hill!

What about the gents that hang at BC?

After our Let's Go Colorado day at the Beave, I admit, I kinda like the place too! Nice pics, Mr. V!

Thanks Mr. V!!
Sounds good but not great. I'm hoping that the forecast holds for the next few days and they get fresh each day as predicted. In the end, I get what I get. Skiing is a fussy sport....a few years ago we went to Tahoe, about a zillion feet of base, and it had warmed up a few days before. The first day at Heavenly was like here in the East....bulletproof! It snowed that night and vastly improved the conditions. All-in-all, there's a much better chance of new snow on a Western vacation as in the East. Even on a good year we often go weeks without new.
Thanks again!
C.B.

Well…apparently there is everything wrong with that since the commercial and online voting program has been dropped as of yesterday.

Nice Pics! What the heck was that 80 F reading?!

Don,
We were over in the Rose Bowl area at the Chair & that Thermometer was facing the sun reading 80+f I think the actual air temp might have hit upper 50s for the day. Kind of a nice change from the Bone chilling temps we have had in the past few weeks!
Hope to be back up Sat. or Sun.

You are truly the Picture Man Looks like it was really outstanding! Betsy and I need to start burning some Copper tickets over the next couple of weekends before we head elsewhere. PM if you are interested in a Copper visit in near future…

Vail 2-14-07

Yesterday was unbelievable at Vail. Much more snow than reported, especially in the Back Bowls/ Blue Sky Basin..it snowed all day in the BBs and pow was knee deep by the afternoon..very cold temps (around 15 deg on top) and light cold smoke pow. Pretty deserted-not too many were braving the elements. It was the kind of day Vail is justly famous for..line after line of untracked powder.

Seems like a lot more on the way for the Prezzy Day Weekend vistors

enjoy the goods
