Are twin tips cool? are German made skis like German cars? parting out a Benz can get you some coin dude. What about french skis are they for wimps or what? Look for Holiday brand skis.

Actually, Yuki is right (assuming I can even translate that post): a friend of mine recently thought his skis were missing (which, it turned out, they weren't). He said that when he want to the ski area people, they told him, "Look around: nobody steals skis any more, they only steal boards."

I managed to squeeze in a few hours skiing at the local speed bump last Saturday. It was cold so I took my warm coat. On the way their I realized my lock was in my ski jacket. I decided to continue because they have an outside ticket window. The outside ticket window was closed. I had to go inside. I put my skis where I could see them. I kept stepping back from the desk and looking out the window, explaining that I was watching my skis. The woman at the desk said there had been 4 pair stolen already that day. It was just about 1:00 PM.

I will translate, I speak a little "boarder"..

Hi friend, I am not sure that is the most prudent option. Skis? No, no, no, my good man, obtain (without permission) snowboards.

The second line that Phil did not translate could be read like this:

“Snowboarders and their ilk are uneducated and quite often score quite a bit lower on the Simon-Binet Scale than you or I. Lost in the mental and physical haze of their marijuana cigarettes they will not discover the fact that you have absconded with their snowboards until well after you have safely vacated the area.”

To leave quickly and secretly and hide oneself, often to avoid arrest or prosecution.

2) a surprise leaving with funds or goods that have been stolen, as in "he absconded with the loot."

I have some 1978 Kazama Winter Magic 180's you can steal if you visit the PNW. It would be worth it just for the Solomon 747 bindings (wth ski brakes!).

Dude, I think I have seen some Rossi 7G w/salomon 9?9 Bindings in the garage. They are really pretty purple and silver.

You gotta case the mountain. First look for the guy that blasts threw the parking lot in his car/ suv... must be near or over $80,000 retail.
Second make sure he is the guy with the top of the line gear and can't ski to save his life. His skis will probably be Atomic or Volkl, and the expert level ski that gets all the advertising of course.
Third take the skis when he is pacing back and fourth on this cell phone, bragging about something.

There ya go!

p.s. if you do this I might not have a ski partner next week, but I will call his secretary and have her pick him up a new pair.

OK, grab the skis while he has his ski boots on, I'll have on my tennis shoes with the ice spikes . This is going to be a cakewalk!
