Hyak (East area of Snoqualmie Pass) on I-90
Winter of 67/68 I believe, 8 lessions from local (Edmonds) school district with transportation to and fro the mountain for $59.00 as I recall. Lift tickets were $4.00 for the small chair or $4.50 for the BIG chair (which went over the top of the mountian to "Green Valley").
A&T skis, "beartrap" bindings, and new fangled buckle boots.
Birddog's comments about the stench on ski busses brought back a few memories....most of them bad! The 90 minute ride was never great, but I remember riding home with a broken leg in a splint (please note the above mentioned beartrap bindings). While waiting for the bus to leave the area I had an ice cream sandwich (or two). Once on the bus (which was always too warm and stuffy) I remember feeling sick, then throwing up.....
I also remember falling asleep on the shoulder of a pretty young lady...what a new and pleasant sensation!
