A Friend and Skier Needs Help

Thread Starter
Chris Dufresne is an adaptive skier/racer and good friend of mine. While skiing at Breckenridge at the beginning of December he crashed and suffered a massive subdural hematoma. Thanks to his helmet and the quick response of the ski patrol, a helicopter medevac, and the neuro-surgical team at St. Anthony's hospital in Denver, Chris survived and started the long road to recovery from the traumatic brain injury.

He has spent the past two months in the hospital and rehab. He's finally heading home, but has a long haul to go. He will be out of work for a quite awhile.

He and Brenda face quite a bit of out-of-pocket medical expenses and their home will need some modifications for greater accessibility.

Chris has been a great supporter of Adaptive Skiing here in the Northeast. He’s served on boards for adaptive organizations, supported fundraisers at numerous adaptive ski schools, and has been instrumental in the establishment and running of the Diana Golden races for adaptive skiers.

Here’s the link to find out how to help.

Thanks in advance for all the help and support.

Terry, you are a kind person. I know the adaptive sports is a huge part of your existence and your compassion has inspired me. Thanks, you can count on me.
