The sun is out, the snow is excellent and I have a new pair of skis to thrash ... or be thrashed. Contemporary skiing requires a more two footed approach and the use of both active and passive retraction through our turns. Time to get MORE with the program so I break out a pair of 170 SX-II Atomics.

Wow nice ski, smooth, stable, likes a short\medium type turn. So I hit the race course for the first time in ages and practise using two feet more. Lots of fun, very different to a pair of Scream 10s out the back but I am solid on the backside so its time to practise contemporary turns on REAL skis on the frontside.

Yesterday and last week was steep and backside terrain skiing in JH & Wail, this week is fast and turny on the hardpack frontside. Cool sport skiing ... always something new to play with.

Having a blast, can still turn em in the race course BUT a long way to go before I start beating the other 40 somethings in the SS. Time to practise ... yeh ha!!!

Though I would share.

Happy turns
