Can you tell me what is better for hard snow / ice? A wider waist like the 11b5 or a narrower waist like the Rossignol VS oversize? Also, which is better for the knee?

Since our eastern trails are not only icy, but narrow, I prefer an SL with an nice sharp 3 degree bevel.
Shorter turn radius allows me to pick my spots and the SL's don't get jumpy on the hard stuff when the speed does build.
99 tail ... 62 waist ... 112 at the shovel
Nice and quick edge to edge when you need it.
