I'm a newbie here so just sayin hello and wondering if anyone has some advice for a confused young soul. So here's my story - grew up skiing in Oregon, Washington and BC and fell in love with the mountain at age 4. Clipped tickets and cut class in High School just to feed the lust. College came, had my first ACL blowout, and all of a sudden, skiing wasn't such a priority any more and before I know it I'm down in sunny San Diego, a full day's drive from a decent powder day. I decided to see what Corporate America was like and after two startups, plenty of Advil and what feels like a complete waste of 3 years of my young life, I'm ready to get back to what's important to me and give the suits the finger. Heading to St. Anton in mid December for a week in the Alps then heading back to the States for Christmas. Here's where I need help. I need your advice for a great place to call home for a winter of ski-bumming. I'm hoping to find a place where I can meet some cool cats to rip with, find a reasonably cheap place to stay, maybe a night job for some extra cash. Most importantly I'd like to find some people like me who have seen the ugly side of the world of the almighty dollar and found that life is just too damn short to sit behind a desk for 10 hours a day. I'm not limited to any particular area of the world and money really isn't much of a problem so nowhere is off limits. Right now I'm thinking Whistler but I'm starting to hear it's overrated and overpriced. Anybody wanna help???
