Shop in Greater Boston the Carries Nordica??

I am looking for some Hot Rods and called Summit in Danvers, the Ski Stop in Westwood, and was in Bob Smiths Willderhouse House, or whatever it is called these days and none of them even carry Nordica. Does anyone know of a shop that is half way decent that has the Hot Rod?

Not a fan of Ski Market but they have the Hot Rod Nitrious. Still looking for the Top Fuel. Anyone?

Seems to me last year Ski Market in Frammingham had two of the Hot Rods and Summit in Frammingham had two of the Hot Rods but different ones. You might call Summit in Frammingham.

Mountainside at Wa has the Mach 3, GranSport 10 and maybe the Hot Rod Nitrous.

True, I called today and they do, they just don't have a single one of either of the Hot Rod models though. I should try framingham though . . .

That is a good idea Wolfman. I work in Lawrence on Tuesday and Thursdays so I am up there anyway! I will call them . . . No sale tax too eah?

Total bummer, I called all the Summit location, all the Ski Markets and Buchika and not a single shop has the Top Fuel. I can get the Nitrious for a decent price, but I want the Top Fuel b/c the Nitrious is just a little too soft.

The prices in stores are so low now that I would be retail. Never thought I would say that. I just can't find what I need!

Can anyone find me the Top Fuel for a decent price in 26 (UK 7)?

the top fuels seem to be out everywhere, at least when I was looking at boots. (or WAY too much.)
You might consider the Speedmachine 14s, they actually have a higher (adjustable) flex with lots of gadgets and seem to be cheaper/more common, and are supposed to feel similar to the Top Fuel, at least, that's what I did.
If you're still looking by Thurs, PM me and I'll let you know how mine feel. (they're being shipped a.w.s.)

Those aren't a bad deal, and the shipping cost is offset by not having to pay tax. I thought that the '05 version was 130 flex though? And they only offer half sizes which I found interesting as well. I heard the sole length changed on the boot from year to year which makes me wonder if the fit will be different. hmmm . . .

Thanks for the ideas. I called both and Wachusett doesn't have any, and like most other shops Ski Outlet only has the Nitrious . . .

You might want to try Zimmerman's (main store in Nashua, outlet at Nashoba) ... they carry Nordica (I saw the Speed Machines at the Nashoba store ... will usually have better stock in Nashua). Ken Jones in Nashua might carry Nordica as well, don't remember for certain.

Might also want to consider the Doberman 100/110 if you can't find the Hot Rods. (Although I've heard those are hard to find as well) I bought Top Fuels this season at GMOL in Stratton and the Doberman was a close second. (Cuff's a bit lower, but same last and close to the same flex)

Good luck ..

Thanks OES,

I will try those NH shops.

As for the Dobie, i am all for finding those too, but they are even hard to come by outside of try ski country. I also like that the Top Fuel comes with the Booster strap. The Nitrious just felt so perfect other than the flex that I am really wanting the Top Fuel!

Well boys, I decided to suck it up and buy the Nitrous.

I went up to Zimmerman's, thanks OESkier, and picked up the Nitrous for $415. For that price new from a shop I figured I couldn't go wrong. The kid that worked with me was a good dude. Not that he had to sell me anything, it was just fun to b.s. with him.

Even if I went ebay I wouldn't really save any money and you can't even find anyone selling the Hot Rod Boots for a good price.

They had one pair of Top Fuels at the shop in a 27. I am a 26 so I put them on just for comparison sake. The flex difference was fairly negligable. It appreared the only difference was an additional piece of plastic screwed to the cuff (exactly like the piece that can be added or removed from my Icon Alu Comps). Granted I haven't skied them, but after wearing them around last night I am happy with the fit. The 100 flex, which I felt would be soft felt much stiffer than my Icon Alu Comps. While it was far softer than my Race R's I think I am ok with that. My Race R's fit great in the forefoot and have had some minimal grinding done to be just right for me, BUT when I put them on side-by-side with the Nordicas I realized just how much play I have in the heel of the Race R.

So that is my story, although I stiff worry they will be a bit soft, I am on the Nordica Nitrous now. I figured if I need a race but I can pick up a plug dirt cheap on eBay and have my buddy grind it for me and make a two boot quiver.

Thanks for all the help!
