Skiing near Santa Fe

Hi, I will be in Santa Fe for work-related reasons and I have a free afternoon starting at noon. I will have access to a car.
Are there any decent ski resorts close by that I can hit in the afternoon?
Any recommendations? The web page for Santa Fe lists several resort options, purportedly nearby, but I have no idea how of good they are and what to expect. How is the snow coverage there now?

Ski Santa Fe is your closest resort, and should be good for an afternoon trip. http://www.skisantafe.com/

If you have a whole day to spend, consider checking out Taos, it's only about 2 hours from SF. Snow is very good this year, and I think all the resorts are claiming at least 50" base right now. We have been getting regular snowfall to keep things fresh. See http://www.skinewmexico.com/ for the latest reports on the local areas.

Taos is a legendary resort. Go to it if you can.

If your half day happens to be on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday consider Pajarito. It'll take you about 40 minutes longer to get there than it will to get to Ski Santa Fe.

PJ is skiing great right now with a 60" base and is a better mountain than Santa Fe IMO.
