Another length question - quick help?

I've been riding a Ride Fuel 165cm snowboard for the last 4-5 years. I'm an advanced snowboarder. I'm 5'8" and around 220lbs. I ride mostly powder, groomers and moguls. No park or jumps.

I was at a shop the other day, looking at the Ride Timeless. I was thinking of trying a 161, because the 165 that I was riding was a little hard to turn in the moguls.

The salesperson in the shop recommended that I go with a 158 instead. He said that 165 or even 161 is way too long for me. The Timeless comes in 159, 161, 164. Ride rates it as a Stiff 7 for stiffness.

I ended up buying the 159, but now I'm wondering if I made a mistake. Before I mount this and use it, can anyone give me any advice on length? Should I listen to the salesguy or go with 161? I need to figure something out in the next couple of days.

2cm isn't a whole lot of difference. If you're worried about making an error and you want to ride moguls better, you're better off erroring on the sohrt side than the long side because it's easier dealing with a board being slower than a board that's harder to turn.

I have a timeless 159 and it turns awesome. I am 5'10. 220lbs. I also have a timeless 164 which I have not ridden yet.

The 159 will definitely turn easier than the 161. You may not notice it as it will not be a huge difference. I have a friend that is 6'2" and 200lbs and he sometimes will ride a 148. Definitely too short for him, but it works for him (he has other boards as well).

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the 59 over the 61

ok..... thanks for the advice. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't making a mistake by getting a little short.
