Pre-ESA warmup (1/18-1/20) in Summit County

I know there's a few out-of-state Bears who will be coming into CO a few days before ESA to acclimatize. Wondering who's skiing where/when, and maybe we can get together for some turns.

KevinF and I have tentative plans to ski the following:

Thu, Jan-18: Vail
Fri, Jan-19: A-Basin/Keystone/Winter Park/Copper
Sat, Jan-20: Loveland (crowd avoidance)

Obviously our plans are subject to change if there's a big dump in one place versus another (unlikely according to the forecast right now).

Anyone else around and want to hook up?

Faisal, I'm gonna shoot for at least one of these days. With the work I did today and the work still to be done here, I may just pass on this Saturday... I'll let you know.

Thanks again for your help today!

Faisal & Kevin,

I'd like to catch you guys one or two days before I head to Aspen.

Looks like I'm going to head west on Monday (off chance of Sunday afternoon). Either way, I'm looking to hit the slopes starting on Wed.

Thur I'm hoping to connect with a group at Copper.

Maybe Friday? ...I'm only going one place though! Maybe Keystone?

Sat&Sun, I'll be at Aspen skiing.

See ya soon,

Chris

madmike, let's keep in touch.

Chris, where are you skiing on Wednesday? I might try to come out for a half day if work (or rather, lack of it!) permits. Our plans for Thursday and Friday are pretty interchangeable, as long as we hit Vail one of those days (so conceivably, we could do Copper on Thursday and Vail on Friday). I'll give you a call on Tuesday evening to figure it out.

Not trying to be cheap....

But, I would be interested in Keystone since my Vail ticket apparently works there. My only problem, is I am public transporting around. You know I will be at Vail and Beaver Creek, so I am definitely down for meeting up.

Faisasy, no plans yet for Wed. Where would you like to go? What's your 1/2 day - morning or afternoon? How many days you have now?

MTmind/Faisasy/KevinF, Keystone on Friday then?

Chris, I'm up for anywhere on Wednesday, ideally any of the Vail resorts or Loveland. Morning would work best for me. Today was day 18 for me I think -- face-shots galore! TR coming later.

Keystone on Friday sounds good to me.

Well ya caught me today then with 18, but your opportunities are fading fast

I need to make a trip to Loveland to pick up some gear, so lets go there on Wed.

See ya soon,

Chris

I'm definitely down for Vail. Loveland, if anyone is nearby Edwards would love to go along. I will just be needing some transportation. I am looking forward to meeting up with people from here.

Hope no one thinks I am to much of a gaper for bringing along a camera. It's not the best, but like getting photos of new friends, and such. Especially doing something that's so much fun.

You're new here, aren't ya? I must be the gaper king then!

Not sure about your transportation options. I'll be driving up from Denver, so unfortunately can't help you there. Chris, where are you staying?
I'm staying in Silverthorne.

Where is Edwards? Is the Summit Stage an option?

Gapers with cameras!!!! Shoot, I know of people on this site that have walk-ez's and carry their boots in brief cases and even know a moderator that has a ski tote (wonder how he got that)....

Now I am not going to feel so bad taking photos.

Edwards, is 5 minutes west of Beaver Creek, on Hwy 6.

Keystone on Friday sounds like fun. I haven't had the opportunity to ski there yet. We'll see if I can make another day or not.

MTmind, can you get yourself to Summit County? I think there's a bus service running between Vail/BC and Summit? Once you get to SuCo, the Summit Stage free bus can take you around the ski areas.

For Loveland, I don't want to speak for cgeib (but I will anyway!), if you can get yourself to Silverthorne (in SuCo, serviced by Summit Stage), you may be able to hitch a ride with him (since Summit Stage does not serve Loveland).

mt, faisasy's right, if you can get to silverthorne or even frisco I can get ya to Loveland on Wed

alright guys, see ya in a couple days. after a good nights sleep I'll head west to pierce thru that ice storm on my way to CO tomorrow.

MTmind, Faisal can continue to speak for me while I'm heading that way. if you find away over the pass Wed morning I can pick you up and take you to Loveland. Hopefully I can check in Tue night, otherwise Faisal and I will be talking Tue night

see ya soon

No fair filming me immediately. I have to remember how to ski on non-man-made snow.

Mind if I join you?

Hey guys, I'd like to link up on Thursday at Vail. We'll see how things go at work, but I'm planning to be there.

Faisal, do you want to carpool?

OKD

I'll give you a call on Wednesday evening to confirm logistics? Carpooling is a definite possibility.
