After initally skiing on the stiff tongues, I switched to the soft ones, After skiing them in everything including two feet of blower, mogals, and very steep chutes I have put the stiff ones back on. I also have the back inserts adjusted as stiff as they go. I'm 6'5"/210 lbs. and find them too mushy with the softer tongues. The thing I like most about the Kryps is the shock absorber feel when I am really rock'n in them and the stiff ones just feel better and react a little quicker for me. I guess with my height I've got a lot of leverage to deal with.
I've always wanted to do a survey of Krypton owners to see what percentages are using which tongue, and what they are doing with the rear insert stiffeners. The boot offers a lot of adjustment options and it is interesting to hear how people are making them fit their individual styles. If I remember correctly I think Phil said he has his set up as soft as possible.
Do they come stock with the stiff tongues in because that makes them feel more like a traditional two piece shell boot?
