At Mt Spokane we had all this cold stuff coming out of the sky. It made it hard to see where you were going and covered the nice packed powder with a covering and had little substance to it.
Worst of all my car was covered and we couldn't see in or out and the boy got his hands all cold removing this iritating substance.
You guys out east think you got problems try dealing with this damn stuff

It was so annoying that I had to wipe my goggles to rid them of the moisture.

My skis kept getting caught in the deepening snow, what a nuisance.

darn snow

Went to town today (60 miles) and got new skis. Driving home I had to slow to 15mph coming down the canyon into the St. Joe river valley, almost zero visibility the flakes were so big. then to add to the misery I had 6" of freshies on my deck that I'll have to push off sometime after I force myself up the Mt. to test the new ski's. At this time 2145 hrs, its 19 degrees outside and snowing.

You know how they have a filter on the San Diego - New England playoff ticket sales to make sure that out of state people can't buy tickets?

We should have a filter on this area of EpicSki that only allow you to post if you are not from the western US...

Hammer, um, honey, I'm a Mazzwhole, too. I'm just visiting here. I feel the need to rejoice after spending the months of Oct-mid Jan in disgusting BROWN. Being in Washington with fresh snow is all that keeps me from jail.

Having new friends to ski with that I met on this website makes life pretty fine, if you ask me. Let me shout it out.

Now, about that first post, what is going on?? Rocket Science being reinvented?:

Or maybe we could put a disclaimer up that moderators can delete any post that seems to be gloating from those who are not living in East/midwest Yuck!:

Regarding your first post, Bonni (nice dig at the team again), I can assure you that there is a lot of work going on in the background to ensure that when the beginners section is launched, it is not just a section with nothing in it, but that it has useful, helpful information there already.

Now the same damn stuff is blown up to my front door. I went to the check my mail appropriatly dressed in shorts and bare feet and by the time I got back inside my feet had a weird numbing sensation. They felt better when I removed all the white crap off of them . If I want to BBQ I'll have to deal with the 7 inches of white atmospheric excrement on top of it and make a path through it to get there. Now I'll have to remove that same stuff frm my driveway and sidewalk so the school kids don't harm themselves when they walk by later.
You guys opened this complain about the weather forum and we are just taking part from the other side of the coin of lifes' little treasures.

Yeah I also remember our short season of rocks and bare slopes not long ago and feel for you guys and wish for some now for the east also. Bonni said there was some on her lawn when she left. Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.

Please stop expecting everyone to be on one level of discourse. It's unreasonable and unnecessary. A little criticism is necessary in order for any business to improve. Stop being so sensitive!

An answer is all that is required, and it was answered with some DIG about deleting at the patrollers discretion!!!: I didn't find it any funnier than what I posted. Where's the stink in that direction?

Do as I say, not as I do? It also gets tiring on this end. Would you like to ban me for having an opinion? :

Well, good, you guys are working on it.

The season is in full swing here (well, in some parts of the country), and it would be nice to point some people into a general direction (and I have people who I can bring here, but there's nothing UP yet), but rather than just start with what you have, it's been delayed until perfection........until........what?

Just open it and let it start to run. Like everything else on here, it will take care of itself.

It's true. We are skiing and not minding our business. It's such a sad state of affairs when the inmates run the asylum.

Bonni, FWIW, I share your frustration. Everything seems to take far longer than we hope, compounded by the challenge of ski season having captured the time of the two primary team members working on the beginners' forum project (neither of whom are moderators, btw, and one of whom you're skiing with this week... you may want to ask him about the progress).

I think that we haven't done a good job of communicating on this project, so we're going to find a way to do a better job. We'll also see if we can't get something done quickly. There is a lot of content that the team has created, and it seems appropriate to find a way to make it available even if it's not the way we'd like it to be.

I'm hopeful that we'll be able to get something done soon, but I'm an optimist... :

Thank you for the response, Steve. I do realize everyone is 'out skiing', but I was hoping that this group of potential New Bears would not get swept under the rug till Spring! The time for their questions is Now, not when the season is over.

Yes, I was filled in on the story, which is why I asked the question. I also realize that I have an abrupt manner, but that is me, and I like to get 'er done once an idea is materialized. This is why I don't work on projects like this. I can't stand the pace.

My preference is to be a realist: we are ski addicts who live in North America. We have good intentions, but we are skiers before we are website samaritans, and we all should understand and accept this value system.

That said, my assessment of the project is that it has progressed nicely through the development phase and now is awaiting implementation in the form of programming answer links to questions on a sticky FAQ page for beginners, to be joined later by a Gaper's Glossary, to anchor the new forum. The forum will be a cool addition, I am sure.

I have not put enough effort into finshing this project and will seek to rectify this lapse on my part. We are working to get this online soon and will make additions and improvements as we go along.
Thanks for the interest . We are listening and will do our best.
