Atomic R9 - mounting position question

Hi Everybody,

I got myself new pair of skis few weeks ago - Atomic R:9 2003 170cm and Rossi Axial Power 100.

Anybody tried to ski them mounted in different position then suggested by Atomic?
I’ve heard it is far back comparing to other brands.

How about Rossi lifter (someting like 10mm), this ski is 72mm underfoot – do I need a lifter?

Thanks

Uhm, aren't the R:9's proprietary to Atomic bindings only?

Nope.
You can use any bindings you want (at least in case of 2003 model).
Which is big advantage IMO.
I got skis for $350 and bindings for $120

I couldn't remember, it must just be the R10 and R11 that has the plate. For some reason I was thinking the 9 had the plate too.
