Salomon XWave 10 or 8 Boots - which should I go for ?

Hi, First post here so welcome all.

I am looking for some advice on boot selection.

I am a reasonably competent skiier (by UK standards !) and a bit of a speed freak, have skiied about 15 weeks and am comfortable down pretty much anything on piste (although don't really enjoy very steep bumps a la Swiss Wall).

I can ski backwards and jump a bit although nothing flash.

My off piste is pretty poor though, especially in crusty conditions where I struggle to execute the turns.

I am 6ft tall and just over 200 lb.

I am looking to progress to the next level including a little bit of freestyle and become competent at off piste and am upgrading my 6/7 year old Salomon performa 9.0 boots (90 flex) which seem to be incredibly stiff and seem to make the extension prior to a turn pretty difficult.

Been recommended xwave 10 or 8. Tried the 10 and they seemed to flex a lot more than my current boots although all the press I have read indicates they are for advanced/expert skiers.

Would you recommend the 8's or 10's and why ?

Thanks.

Welcome. Take a look at this thread on the very same topic: X-Wave 10 or 8?
