The search function will take you to a thread about this (and other Salomon bindings). One of the concerns is about the cheap looking toe-piece. I have them on some Big Troubles and I love how light they are. I have used them for 14 days of hard skiing (including double blacks, moguls, fairly deep powder skiing) and I have not had any trouble with them at all. Since you are an intermediate skier, you will likely find them to be just fine. I have some Rossi/Look bindings that I really like as well (the Axials are worth considering), but I really like the low weight of the Z12s.
