RX 8 (2007) length decision, please help!

Tomorrow I have to decide wether I buy the 170cm RX8 or the 175RX8 (model 2007). I am 6.25 feet and 175 lbs. I ski for 10 years (one week a year).
I want a versatile ski for all on-piste conditions (not skiing off piste). The ski should also be stable ski and able to swing quick turns after each other when I want to.

Which length would you advise?

Thanks for your reactions!

At 5'11", 215lbs, I demoed a set of 165 RX8s. They belong to a fellow that is 6'2", 175ish. Love that ski! Turned on a dime, huge confidence and ability boost, fast, fun and stable. A cool thing was that I could tell when my skills started to slack off, like when I dropped into the back seat the skis would quickly remind me of the error of my ways without ejecting me.

If you are choosing between the two, then I would recommend the 170.

I bought the 2006 RX-8 in a 170 on sale at the end of last season and have a good ten or twelve days on them now. I'm 6'2" and 225 and the ski is a ton of fun. Lately I've been thinking that I'd like to try it in a 175...

Better yet go with the 165. I have both 170 and 165 RX8's, and really prefer the shorter version. I am 6'2" 245 lbs..

I would ski the 175, or perhaps the 170, or even the 165 if you need something short, snappy, and quick. It really depends on the application. I would ideally ski 170cm for PNW conditions, or a 165 if I wanted a more slalom-like feel, but I am 5 foot 9. The 175cm will be much more stable at speed without giving up too much quickness, and you are a big guy.

I'm 6' 2" and 190 and own the RX8 in a 175 - absolutely love it for on piste skiing . Super stable at speed and still plenty quick for short turns. Also surprised at how good it is in cut up / fresh snow although its obviously not a powder board. Not my everyday ski for Whistler, but it might be if I stayed on the groomers all the time. Too much fun!
