I bought my daughter Metron M9's for Christmas off Ebay. The brakes on the Neox 310 appear to be the right width but they don't click together worth beans. They will not hold the skis together when carried over shoulder. Is it because of the riser plate, design of brake, or what? Anything I can do about it?
Yeah, the Neox brakes aren't the best for the "click-and-sling" method of ski carrying. That's why I use good 'ol ski straps (the ones with the layer that gets sandwiched between the skis) to keep my Atomics together.
It's also better for the brakes and the skis: the brakes don't get as torked, and the ski bases and edges don't get scraped to a funky consistency.
I'd say you should buy a pair of good ski straps - should run you all of $5-8.
