Hit or Miss

I've been to several around the Bay Area and they never have the same stuff. It always kind of feels like I've stumbled into a high end warehouse clearance sale or top flight garage sale.
Ditto here in central new schmersey, it is really hit or miss at SA. If you know what you are looking for, you can sometimes find some great bargains. For example, I got a pair of last year's s912 ti's with wide brakes for $ 105 last week, but I had to hit two stores to find them. While I did see some Seth V's on the rack, generally speaking, they do not stock the top end gear here. They are really good with binding mounts, so I don't do these myself anymore unless the skis are off warranty.
The best SA I have ever been to in terms of selection is the one next to the City Market in Dillon. I was there in early November, all kinds of deals on last year's skis. I can't remember the name of the guy who helped me out, but the service was great. From that standpoint, it makes a lot of sense to do an early season ski trip since you can still get great prices and you don't have to listen to your wife complaining all summer about all the gear you bought but are not using.
