When will this weather end! - Page 2

You can have some of my snow - 6 feet in my driveway since Dec 10! I've run out of places to put it.

I was hoping to take the kids skiing a couple of times between Christmas and New Years. Not enough snow for that to happen. I ended up playing 9 holes of golf yesterday afternoon wearing a light wind breaker. The 10 day forecast is not good and the remnants of the last CO storm coming through is nothing but rain. I can only hope it changes soon. It's so bad here I put together a snow emergency trip to CO for the 5th through the 8th. With the rain, golf is out of the question too. Hope Herb Stevens is right and the weather pattern is changing in the next 2 weeks.

Thanks for the update finding Herb. Winter help appears on the way although we have to suffer another week . Feel better that there are existing prospects for winter to still occur. Happy New Years everybody.

Maybe I'm just getting old and my memory is getting spotty but this just doesn't seem right. I'm in NJ as well (mainly a Camelback skier) but ski much of the Northeast. For years we've been able to go up to Killington, Sunday River and others and ski a pretty full slate over Thanksgiving and it only improved from there. Here it is January 1st and Camelback is 100% closed. It's 50 degrees at Killington.

We haven't had a decent Thanksgiving now in several years. However, during that time Christmas wasn't a problem. Now we can't even ski over New Years.....

If it's still 50 degrees in 2 weeks I'm going to start thinking about moving to the Arctic before everyone else gets the idea and prices go through the roof.

I agree with you. Here in the Chicagoland area we've got a few resorts open but they're getting a little thin. I'm going back to work tomorrow after being off for three weeks. I didn't get a fourth of the skiing in I was planning on doing. Lets hope for a cold January!

It's been raining all morning here in southern VT. A rain coat is more appropriate than a winter jacket right now.

I heard from weather reports that last 23 or so days of Dec in the Wash DC were above normal temps, way above, about 10 degs.
