Paul Accola - this guy just doesn't stop , O.K. he rarely gets on the podium but he's always around midfield , knocking off many much younger guys . How long has he been around now?

I watched him at the 88 calgary olympics, I think he won the combined slalom. I didn't realize he was still at it!!

He is almost 37 yrs old (born Feb 20, 1967). Estimating he started on the World Cup at age 20 would mean a 16 year career.

Eberharter just won at Kitzbuehel and he's 34 yrs old.

Look at his results in the last Olympics too! For his career history you can go to the FIS site and get that from his profile and the results of every race are there.

Keep an eye on Ambrossi Hoffman he shares the Stockli sponsorship with.

I looked at the FIS results. Looks like his Calgary olympic year was his first international year. He was third in the combined and like I said I think he won the slalom leg to acheive that!!

Given he was in the extra olympics at Albertville or Lillihammer (I forget which it was) and given that he would likely hang on another 2 years he has to be close to setting a record for most olympics skied in. If he makes it that would be 6 by my count. I'm assuming he didn't miss any due to injury. Guys who ski this long usually go injury free. Stenmark must be close as well but he didn't have the advantage of an extra olympics.

Lillehammer was the odd olympics to facilitate the split with the summer olympics. Ingemar actually only participated in 1976 and 1980 as far as I recall. (I don't think he was in Sapporo in 72). He was not eligible for the 1984 olympics due to his "professional" status.

That's right I forgot, Stenmark didn't get to ski Olympics for most of his career due to his status. Accola MUST have or about to have the record for most.
