St. Patrick's Day Weekend @ Kmart

For the last three years my daughter and I have enjoyed St. Patty's Day weekend at Killington. We stay at the Comfort Inn Trolley Station in Rutland. Indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, and the most awesome breakfast. A short walk to either the Sirloin Saloon or to South Street Station for Steak Dinner Saturday night. McD's accross the parking lot or Pizza delivery for Friday night.

Any other bear families wishing to join us I will try to reserve a block of rooms and negotiate a great rate. First year I lucked out with Priceline.com and the last two they have given me that rate directly (saved themselves the commission).

Who else is in??

Please do not call March 17th 'St Patty's Day'

Thread title changed at Stache's request. I'm certain no offense was intended.

I don't think it was offensive at all.

My reply was just facetious.

Super.

Thanks for organizing this, Stache!

Whatever days you can make, Bonni, it'll be great to see you and skier_j again. We'll find a bar where we can actually hear one another talk!

Annie & I were planning on going to Snowshoe that sun-wed as a LGCIII tuneup, but Kton sat-mon would be the same amount of time off work.

I'll ask her about it, so count us as a maybe right now.

Would be a pleasure to meet all of you and PJ/Roe it would be anice to see/ski with you again.

Absolutely! It'd be great to see you again, as well. Will Ryan be joining you, too, or is he still out West where there's actual snow?

I called the Comfort Inn Trolley Square and they are working up a special rate for us. Ask for the "Barking Bear Rate" She had my previous year's bookings in her database so hopefully we should be working close to that rate.
Do we need a "Hospitality BYOB Room"? or will the lobby setting area (just outside the pool/sauna/spa area) be sufficient. Bar(s) are accross the parking lot. I will go on record saying they have the best belgian waffles and yogurt and cereal and juice and boiled eggs and bagels and muffins and stuff for breakfast. I suggest a catered in Pizza Party for Friday night. Dinner Saturday night can either be at the Sirloin Saloon or the South Station. If we are going as a group then I will reserve a "Table". I might even have some of my vouchers for lift tickets available but won't know for sure until after President's week. I use the Skyeship Base for parking when skiing Killington. Love that last run of the day down Homestretch.

Hey, Stache. I called today to inquire about the rate, as you didn't mention it here, and the people I talked to had NO idea what I was talking about. After confirming that I had the correct hotel, I said I'd get more info and call back. Has the rate not been confirmed yet? The group reservations agent, Betty Larson, says there's room available the weekend we're talking about and asked that you give her a call. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks!

Betty and Peggy both work in that office and I was working with Peggy but until now nothing was confirmed except that they had rooms and were working on the exact rate. Bartking Bear Rate is just $72/night includes a super "continental" breakfast, indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and I will see what I can do about organizing a Pizza Party for Friday night.

Got it. I'll stop being so proactive (way too ahead of things?) until details are confirmed then.

Thanks for the info!

Hmmmm.....at $72 a night we just might have to stay over and ski 2 days!

That "Barking Bear" rate $72 including a killer continental breakfast is good whether you stay one night or three.
