I was supposed to fly into Denver this morning but of course all the flights were cancelled. I was able to rebook to Salt Lake City tomorrow arriving in the afternoon. Are the roads open between SLC and Frisco, CO?

Yes, I rented a condo through the Hotel Frisco. Nearly $1,800 which they refuse to refund any part. It's either drive 1,000 miles or completely lose $1,800.

The roads shouldn't be too bad and it will take about 7-8 hours. I don't have a map here, but I think the route is I-15 to US6 to I-70. Can you still depart out of Denver?

I'm afraid a lot of other stranded people got to the car rental companies before me. None of the rental companies have any one-way rentals between SLC and DEN. I'll have to go back to SLC to return the car.

Charles, PM me when you get here. Would like to make some turns.

Just make sure to gas up before you hit US-6 from SLC. If I remember correctly, it's a long way before you hit civilization. Once you get on I-70 from US-6, Green River is the only real stop again until Fruita/Grand Junction.

I'll give you a call on your cell phone on Saturday. It would be great if we could hook up this year.

So when to when are you here and skiing? I can probably do some combo of Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

In Green river tonight on my way to Oregon, left Silverthorne around 3:00 pm after my doctor's appointment. I70 is dry and clear from Avon. I don't anticipate any problems on Highway 6 in the morning. Check the UDOT site, you should be able to get to Frisco from SLC without any trouble.

ps, you can gas up in Price and a few other whistle stops before Green River if you need to. You should be able to make it to Fruita or Grand Junction unless you're driving a gas guzzler. I can usually make it from SLC to Fruita on one tank in my Exploder.
