Thin cover? I haven't been to Kmart this year, but I'd think anything without extensive snowmaking coverage has been reduced to "no cover" from the January 1st rainstorm. Please, somebody attend this event! I gotta read a trip report regarding the Highway Clinic.

I seem to have lost my mind. I could swear I made a post about Jeff not willing to 'poach thin cover', being a patroller and concerned for safety of himself and others. Maybe I just dreamed it?

Things get roped off for a reason.

Oh really?

Bonni. Let me explain something to you. This is a Freeskiing Clinic. Specifically:

"Freeskiing: The Highway Star Way"

The "highway star way" involves poaching. Lots and lots of poaching. Thus, as part of this clinic, we are going to cover poaching. Why to poach, how to poach, and the risks involved with poaching.

There is nothing stopping a patroller from poaching, aside from their own ablities.

Yep, things get roped off for a reason - so I can poach them!!!!!

PS. Did I mention we are going to do some poaching?

Highway, I have two questions. I am honestly curious

1) How many times have you gotten kicked off a mountain for poaching?

2) How long does it take you to totally ruin a pair of skis from hitting rocks while poaching?

Poaching is for eggs.

Hey, HS, will you be poaching at all??

This sounds like a pretty fun day of skiing. I was planning on attending to get some last minute skiing in before I get on a plane and go back to Florida for school that night (where its even harder to find snow). I'm curious to know if you still are hesitant about having this on Sunday, or if enough interest has turned up. I've never skied Killington before so this seems like a good opportunity. Stowe is a little bit too far for me coming from the Albany, NY area since I have to be on a plane in Albany at 7pm. If this is actually gonna happen then I would be there, otherwise I'll probably just end up skiing someplace a little closer to home that day.

Ok. I'm sure that some folks would like to show up, and frankly, I'd enjoy making some turns with Highway (I enjoy skiing whenever and wherever I can with anyone who loves to get out on snow!), but I'd like to encourage folks to obey posted signs and closures wherever they ski. While "poaching" may not be an allusion to doing otherwise in this case, I know that it can be, so felt I needed to offer a comment.

I hope you all find HS and enjoy skiing with him. Perhaps you should move it to Stowe if the snow is better there. Whatever you do, get out there and ski!

Red jacket or red Epic fleece vest, black pants, silver helmet. Epicski Ball cap. Black Kryptons, black with gold big Stix 76's

I have a bronze pass so even if I can't find anyone, I'll probably make a couple laps from the gondola at 10.

I want to be there, but these conditions look awful.
