Hey Fooks

Ya want to buy another house? The first Epic Ski beach house auction. What am I bid for……

1200 sq metres of land, 3 bed + study, double brick colonial style, stunning seaviews, personally hand crafted drinking\BBQ deck taking in brilliant beer in hand sunsets across the gulf (or champagne for the romantic unhyphenated types), 500m walk to the beach & the Seacliff pub that serves most any beer (Kilkenny on tap), high speed internet connection & a beautifully presented property ... like its owner.

For you Fooks only A$300k. Located in sunny Adelaide, 200m stagger to the designated driver electric train stop and 15mins to the nightlife of Glenelg or the city. No "real" surf but excellent fishing (gar, squid, king george whiting, great whites etc) 27% capital appreciation rate the past two years. First viewing this Saturday. JD\One World programmers in demand at EDS Oz headquarters. Adelaide, the city that is about to export the new Pontiac GTO to the US market and the red wine capital of the world.

This is a bargain by world standards, Someone make me happy and refill the leaky ski bank so the Oz junior team and I can go to OOtah next year.

You want a nice house, fine. A nice car, sure. New skis, of course. But your name is SCSA is damn it, not Johnson SCSA.
OK - sounds good - now I come from a culture where inheritence is through the female line(sensible really - no-one can argue who your mother was...)
So I think the male should take my name - so it doesn't get lost!

When my woman is walking down the street, I want people to say, "That's SCSA's wife, Mary SCSA."

I'm as proud of my wife as a hooker with new shoes. I want the world to know she's mine and that I'm hers. I pay for the house, the car, everything else you can imagine.

OK - so I pay for the house etc - MY NAME & HE'S MINE

Oh damn I like this idea - can I chain him up? please?????

No, this is the second fastest.
The fastest was when a man posted a thing that started "'A well-regulated militia..." without explaining exactly what was meant.

Oz, as for $300AU, what's that? about £50?!
I only buy one house every 7 years, so you'll have to wait until I'm 39 to take that off your hands, although if it's too near the coast, it may be under water by then, but it will be Australia's fault, and it won't be global warming

If all the Bears chipped in $100 each, lurkers included, it would be co-owned and we could all live in it and call it the Yellow Submarine.

I'm in.

I'm not sure about SCSA, though. Does it have a shed?

Money can't buy it, baby
Sex can't buy it, baby
Drugs can't buy it, baby
You can't buy it, baby

I believe that love alone might do these things for you
I believe in love alone yeah yeah
Take the power to set you free
Kick down the door and throw away the key
Give up your needs...
Your poisoned seeds
Find yourself elected to a different kind of creed

I believe that love alone might do these things for you
I believe that love alone might do these things for you
I believe in the power of creation
I believe in the good vibration
I believe in love alone yeah yeah

Won't somebody tell me what we're coming to
It might take forever till we watch those dreams come true
All the money in the world won't buy you peace of mind
You can have it all but you still won't be satisfied

Money can't buy it...baby
Sex can't buy it...baby
Drugs can't buy it...baby
You can't buy it...baby

Now, hear this
Pay attention to me
'Cause I'm a rich white girl and it's plain to see
I got every kind of thing that the money can buy
Let me tell you all about it
Let me amplify
I've got DIAMONDS
You heard about those
I got so many that I can't close my safe at night in the dark
Lying awake in a sick dream

I believe that love alone might do these things for you
I believe that love alone might do these things for you
I believe in the power of creation
I believe in the good vibration
I believe in love alone yeah yeah

Ah yes, the best things in life are free.........
trouble is, everything else takes cash! I've lived it both ways and, believe me, having money is definitely the way to go.

The rotund, balding, aging CEO who's in Aspen for the holidays with a supermodel on each arm would agree.

Beach House in Oz? A$300,000 is only about $169,000 US Thats a pretty good deal. But it would still be one hell of a commute to get to work. By the way how close is the nearest righthand Point break? Would you toss in a new 9'0" high proformance Longboard to make the deal? Was that 27% appriciation per year? With a little capital you could make some serious money in The real estate market down there. Think I'll dump my Enron,World Com and Martha Stewart stock and buy some real estate down there.

Sugar knows a few good tunes.

Hey Bonni,
Put it this way. If it doesn't have a tree house, I'm not coming.

Where the really big business is done

Very nice Treehouse SCSA. Does your wife ever let you in the real house?

I earn more than my husband. Does that mean he should have taken my name? Does it mean he should obey me (if so, that'll be news to him)? It used to be the case that the wife went from being a daughter to a wife without having a life of her own; that she became her husband's property as well as being supported by him. It used to be legal (i.e. not against the law) to hit or rape your wife because she was your property. It made sense for her to take his name, as she never really had a name of her own. That's not true any more.

I have a male friend who took his wife's name on marriage.

I have a mild preference to starting a new name when you get married, to indicate you are a new household, new family, new 'entity'. But hubby didn't want to, so we just kept our original names.

Sorry the house is now sold. Ya have too be quick downunder.

Alta I know of two excellent right hand points with the works as far as living goes only one hour north of Sydney. Prices start at around A$300k upwards. (although A$500k will get you decent sea views).

My ex wife, who IS seriously rolling in it, still has my last name and she refuses to give it back.

Frances ... interesting idea.
