Ski.Net's Lift Babes

If I can get a little Maxim/FHM "sexist" for a hot minute:

Hmmm.

I clicked through their "slideshow" and seriously have to question how many of these "babes" actually operate/work the lifts at any resorts. They look more like "models" to me.

Based on my experience (we'll take last season as a prime example) at resorts in Tahoe, Utah, Colorado, Mammoth, and JH, I would say that more than 80% of the lifties I encounter over the season are scruffy dudes, with the occassional snow boarder bunny (Heavenly seems to have the best women-to-men liftie ratio of all the Tahoe resorts) tossed in for variety's sake.

I also found this "feature" interesting in that they never mention where any of these lifties operate.

I smell a "fake" story to appeal to the overactive libidos of young gun rippers!

There are a lot of lift-ops out there, atlest a few of them must be hot.

mmmm...Courtney can lick my ice cream cone anytime

They did a nice tribute to the Lange Girls too.

At my local (albeit relatively small) resort, most of the lifties are on work release from the county prison. No joke. And I would not want to see any of them out of their Carhartts.:

My local patrol has some real hotties.

Where's the tatt's and assorted piercings?

They can spin my bullwheel any day of the week.

There are quite a few attractive young women working lifts, but isn't it amazing what a make-over and photoshop will do. With the "help" they do almost look like the "real" thing ... models that is.

Psst Hey -- wanna buy a bridge in Brooklyn

uh, yeah.

They are pretty hot, but not anything special....there are only 8 or so pictured and im sure there are plenty of hot girls out there who work at ski areas...

Would not put any these ladies in the model category, just pretty hot lifties.

Some of those girls look like they'd have trouble bumping a t-bar.

I can hear it now....

I was skiing at a small midwestern ski area when..these two beautiful lifties got into the gondola with me....

My local hill (Wintergreen VA) does some sort of student exchange program with South American ski resort staff. About half of the lifties are girls, and quite attractive. On the other hand, hop over the border to Snowshoe WV where most of the lifties are hill-billies (think Deliverance) and it gets a little scary.

I can't stand that crap.

There are loads of talented female skiers out there who could use the publicity and instead they go with a bunch of nobodies who all seem to have only one name each.

Much sexier to me is a female who meets or doesn't meet the "model standard" but who rips on skis. I'm not going to say these chicks can't ski, maybe they're great - but why bill them as "Mandy" and "Brandy" and "Candi" or whatever? It's like who they are doesn't matter - but the text is telling us that the very reason their photos are there is because of who they are.

And breasts half out of a ski jacket? WTF? If I want to see that and way more there's that little thing called "the internet". It just looks weak to me.

This just seems so old fashioned in all the worst ways.

Boring.

"Where's the tatt's and assorted piercings?"

Dunno about that. I think most resorts have some sort of appearance policy.

I swear up until a season or two ago at Alpine Meadows you couldn't have facial hair if you worked upfront (i.e. the lifts, ticket window, cafeteria...any place where you were interacting with the public). Ditto for Northstar. And piercings? Out of the question.

I think a lot of resorts have lightened up, but you're not going to see many tatts on the lifties unless they're sporting them on their faces (or it's spring/summer conditions).

you obviously haven't partied with very many lifties....

the tatts and piercings are where you don't normally see them

sadly, no I haven't partied with any lifties.

but i was referring more to out on the slopes, since 90% of the time they're bundled up in the resort's "uniform".
