This northeastern weather is loathsome.

A week of cold. A taste of skiing. Now who knows how many weeks of 50+ and rain. The knuckle head weatherman keeps saying it's "nice". It better change soon. People have enough depression around the holidays.

Ugh. I hope there's decent conditions at Waterville this Sat or I'm cancelling my demo day.

Yes, everyone is saying how NICE the weather is! Well, what's NICE? Wet and dirty and ugly is NICE? New England without leaves or snow just isn't very appealing in any sense.

NICE for your heating bill? With energy doubled what it was 4 years ago, how NICE can it be? I want it as NICE as it was then, and perhaps I'd think it was NICE, too. When you pay more for heating your house in December when it's in the 50's and above freezing every day than you did when it was -20 all month, it ain't very NICE at all!:

NICE for gardening? Hiking? Picnics? Just what is the appeal of a sloggy holiday???

Can you tell how NICE I feel about this wonderful weather?

Hang in their guys...We'll get it soon enough.

I just traded my skis for a collection of wooden tennis rackets!

Just be thankful that there isn't any global warming!:

We went to get our Christmas tree this past Sunday with the kids. The local golf course was packed when we drove by. That is soooooooo wrong.

Last year, we cut our tree during a snowstorm.

I am going to stab the next person who says "it soo beautiful out"..I can't stand it anymore, I'm going insane. Why doesn't God love us ? who cares about 45- 50 degree weather ? it's too cold to play basketball, it's not cold enough to go skiing. I want to go skiing...ON SNOW !!

I can't take it anymore I'm going insane. I check 4 different weather sites about 50 times a day in hopes something changes... nothing. Not a sign on relief anywhere in site. And it's not just the east coast...it's the entire world...except for colorado..those phuckers are happy as hell...grrrr.

I'm losing it, I can't even be productive at work because I"m too pissed about the weather...

PLEASE PLEASE change soon.. we need snow...soooo bad... hell I'll be happy with just the colder weather...I don't need the snow we can make the snow!!! just get cold already I can't stand this it's driving me nuts..

The weather is so bad it defies comment.
It could be worse...you could own/manage/work at a ski resort and at the worst need that employment to feed your family or at the least need the extra money for Xmas presents. Luckily that's not me but for some of my friends it is.

Down here, it will be in the 70's over the weekend and in the upper 60's the rest of the days. How can one get in the Christmas spirit with weather like this? Last week was amazing- lowest temps here in a couple of years in the teens. Now, it's just awful. I guess I will be able to get a lot of base miles in for cycling.

JH R Ur right on target and put things in perspective .

For us its fun for them its a LIFE.

I do empathesize with those who work in the industry here in the East and will do all i can to support them when the snow finally arrives . Its VERY important to keep these local/regional hills in business

We ARE frustrated BUT are still fortunate enough to still be able to enjoy life and not be financially threatened by this damn weather.

They got our $700 for season passes back in the Spring, and won't get any more from us.

So......money for nothing, ride your sticks in the sea (can't ride em on the hill).
Agreed. It's damn depressing looking outside and seeing rain in the middle of December.
Persistence!! There is snow - just do it! I speak as a New Englander.
Looking on the bright side maybe this means we will have a an extended winter in the East that goes into March/April like it did 2 years ago. According to the weather forecasters this warming pattern should start to leave by the New Year. Probably only a couple more weeks of 50 degree temps then winter will arrive.
I left the mountain yesterday after skiing slush all day and drove home with the top off my Jeep. That does not make me happy unless it's April.

The really sad part is it won't be the last time I do that over the next 10 days or so.

Canadia needs to stop sending us cold air in the Summer and only send it in the Winter.

Look at the bright side. The money we're saving on our heating bills we can save for lift ticket money!
Wow, things must be bad to have a thread with "loathsome" in the title. :
I feel bad for you guys! It caught my attention that Vermont ski areas are seeing highs in the mid 40's for the forseeable future! Yuk. We have had mild weather here in the PNW as well, but it is more normal for this time of year. You northeastern skiers should be in a deep freeze by now. Keep your hopes up-the snow will come soon enough!

thanx Dawg ----- we NEED encouragement !

The sad truh is that even if the weather does turn around then , it is too late. The Christmas perios is crucial for the ski resorts. They make something like half of thier money in 10 days during Christmas Week and President's Week. Take away one and they have a bad year. Take away both and they are screwed.
