Pretty good considering I am back in my cube after three days at Winter Park. Tiredness and muscle soreness armor me from work for a couple of days. Then, rested, I get psyched to go again and that helps get me through the rest of the week.

About to make turns on my 27th day. So... it's going great!

Planning a road trip to Utah after the 1st of the year. Lookin' for joiners. I'll post on Meet On The Hill when I have dates. I can't wait.

GREAT! It's snowing like crazy here in Washington. I've been skiing every chance I get between work and holiday preparations.

Going tomorrow..........

Its Tuesday and we got a light dusting last night, probably a few inches in the hills. Its killing me, I'm stuck at work while I know people are sucking up tracks in the mountains. I've got epicski, so I'll get through it!

PinHead, looking forward to your post, maybe you can pick up my deadbeat friends and get them out here!

Terrable !!!!!!

Got back to work after spending 6 days in Utah skiing last week. Started and ended with Alta. No skiing until after Christmas. This is a bad bad day.

But those 6 days of skiing! Wow. We were one of the first people into the parking lot at Alta on Saturday after they opened the road. What an increadable end to a great week. The powder and the slops just kept getting better and better last week. We also took advantage of the SLOC $20.02 offer. Skied Alta for $18, ALLL DAAY!!!

Now I have to get ready for Tahoe after Christmas. The sacrifices we must make.

Mixed ..... Took out a small aspen with my knee on Sunday, tree lost and knee now normal size, wrapped and sent presents to my two boys and held back tears of "missing them", almost skied with SCSA today but we missed each other, excellent new snow and very uncrowded runs, skiing slowly getting centred and feeling good and strong, body slowly adjusting to the thrashing it is getting, got a Christmas booking with some VIPs, attended an excellent coaching lecture with Katie Fry, still some duty free Scotch left .... all in all a day of contrasts.

Downhill.

Quickly.
Slowly, in an anticlockwise direction.
Down the pan.

It's going to be another year before I'm skiing again.

Sorry to depress you, but I want to ski, and my boss won't let me.

Pretty damn good! Put in my letter of resignation at work and will be heading out to Mt. Hood for a full week of skiing. That means that in.... 11 days, 14 hours, 42 minutes and 16 seconds I get will be out of the wonderful Florida christmas climate of 92 degrees and 90% humidity and into... 124" of snowpack and 12' of new powder.

All I gotta say is... WOOOO HOOOO!!!!

Since peace came to Ireland, it's been more difficult to get that arranged. Just someone, give me a new job, then I can stop whinging on about not getting my skiing in!

Stewart, when you say you won't be skiing for another YEAR, that physically hurts. But better you than me.

OK, maybe a year is exaggeration. Probably more like 11 months, 2 weeks.
Actually, that's not too bad given that I spent over 20 years of my life not skiing. It's only about 3% of my life so far.
But it's a long 3% and I really want/need to go skiing.
Now, does anyone need a slave?

Stewart, little sympathy mate. I've just had a look at Jobserve.co.uk and there are shed-loads of JD Edwards positions (albeit not in Ireland). It's time to leave your current job and become a contractor. Rates are better as is the flexibility to go skiing.

Go on.....would you like me to write your resignation letter?

The letter is already written. Unfortunately I'm not wanted for any of the jobs on jobserve - I get their daily email, and apply to anything that's on it. Most people want contractors to start tomorrow, but I have to give a month's notice, so unless I can get a contract position where they can wait, I'm going to have to quit this job and hope to get something afterwards.

OK, I'll stop whinging now.

Sounds like a catch 22. You could do a sickie. Rather than claiming to be ill, tell your boss you've been shortlisted to go on 'Who wants to be a Millionaire'- you have to go for filming and it's an opportunity too good to miss. A few weeks down the line when he doesn't see you on the box, your notice period will be over and you will be sat happily in your new job having had another excellent weeks skiing.

Bite the bullet....hand that letter in.

Stewart have you thought about Austria? It has good snow/skiing and even the odd Irish pub. You would pick up the language in no time although most people speak english.
A decent hill 2hrs door to slope with 1.70m at the moment.

Life's too short .....

DB, is this a job offer?

BTW do you think we're getting to the stage of having a "Stewart's Employment" section on the forum yet?

Come on, someone else out there must want to share with us about the great time they are having, or are about to have.
Please, brighten up my day!

No not a job offer but there does seem to be a shortage of computer people over here. Send me a PM if you're interested.
