What NYC areas will be skiable first this season?

I'm looking to make a couple of day trips to the mtns. closest to NYC ASAP, I really got an itch to hit the slopes.

When will Hunter/Windham/Jiminy Peak be ready to go do you think?

Perhaps you might call them and ask. They would know better than anyone here.

Go to the websites and look to see what is open that will suit your fancy...

Hunter was looking pretty good this past Saturday, coverage was good and I think they were opening more trails Sunday and today. Not crowded either, I was pleasantly surprised. There’s a good chance they’ll lose some trails this week though.

I was at Windham last weekend, but not skiing. The mountain looked very bare. I don't think they were open due to warm conditions and not enough snowmaking.

I heard that Windham tried to blow too many trails, and not concentrate it on one or 2 trails like Hunter does. When it got warm, they lost it all.
