Steamboat Lodging

Thread Starter
Taking my family to Steamboat in early March. Any suggestions for lodging? I prefer a ski-in ski-out place, or at least somewhere within walking distance. Have grazed their website - considering La Casa or Bearclaw, but would love to hear from anyone with personal experience. Thanks in advance!

We stayed at the Steamboat Grand http://www.steamboatgrand.com
this summer on a whim - very nice suites - great off peak rates. If I could afford it, I would stay there to ski. Very short walk to the Gondola. Not much help, I know, but have fun.

I wouldn't be so set on ski/in ski/out at Steamboat. They have a great free shuttle system that can get you closer to the gondola than ski/in ski/out can.

While most of the places in Ski Times Square are great, sometimes its great to get a cozy little place closer to town. You can get twice the place for 1/2 the price (well, 3/4 the price).

I've always had great luck renting from www.vrbo.com (for condos) or travelocity (for hotels). Look for places that offer free shuttle, free or discount lift tickets, or free nights. There are some great deals out there, you just have to spend some time looking.

Good Luck!!!

It's true about the shuttles. Walk out the door get on the bus, and they drop you off right out front. Very convenient, and cheaper than slopeside. Had a ball there last year.

So you know, I believe that Bearclaw is the only true ski-in and ski-out place. There are a bunch of ski in areas, and Ptarmigan Inn (Holiday Inn I believe is the best bet for value pricing).

Anyway, the free buss around here is great and there are many options for getting to the hill. Personally, I think you should consider saving a little money by not looking for ski-in/out, but find somewhere nice and within budget and take the bus (or shuttle), or in my honest opinion, stay wherever, drive and park in the Meadows lot and take the shuttle (runs every 5 minutes basically) to the base (it runs from 7:00AM till 6:00PM). You can also pay (I think $10) to park in the garage right by the transit center (between the Grand and Sheraton).

steamboat lodging

Hi: try the Inn at Steamboat, 9708792600 not ski in but a free hotel shuttle takes you to the slopes . Moderate priced they have a web site. Or if on a budget try clean living they have a two bath one bed room unit that rents fully furnished. It is located 6/10 of a mile walking or a great idea is what I do drive to meadows and take free shuttle bus, (I live in the complex walton Village condos that the rental is in) I use Inn , or them to put up my xtra guests.800 8796183

We stayed at the Eagle Ridge Lodge. Very nice. New, Clean etc. It is near the mountain but they have a shuttle that runs all day long only to this building. We found it very convenient. Longest wait in the week might have been 10 minutes tops. Highly recommend it. Would stay there again but it is not ski in/out.

Steamboat Ski in Ski out

The Sheraton is ski in ski out. It is a wonderful facility, a few steps from the gondola and right next to the bus stop for trips into town. I would recommend going to Starbucks apre ski and hopping into the hot tub overlooking Ski Times Square.

I am going in January and had good luck finding my place at www.resortquest.com. We used them last year when we went to Utah and got a place right across the street from Park City. Have a great trip!
