He sounds like he'll be fine. I really hate when the news media tries to report on Bode or ski racing in general.

What the hell does that mean?

Oh, sorry, now he's ranked in the top 6, I guess he must suck now. He WON THE FU^&##G DOWNHILL!

I wish that the major news media would stay out of sports that they have NO interest in. They shouldn't report ANY news that isn't Football, Baseball, Baketball or Hockey. They don't understand sports like cycling or skiing, they can't appreciate that finishing in first place isn't always realistic, that coming in 5th isn't failing.

They go for the 'Dramatic Headline!!' instead of looking to understand the sport and the real story. As soon as the dramatic headline portion of the story is over they stop reporting. Anyone seen any coverage about Floyd Landis since the summer?? It's not interesting that he may not be guilty of doping, that the lab in question has some serious issues, that the Spanish Govt. dropped ALL the charges in Operation Puerta. We'll never hear about any of that. What happened in the Duke Lacrosse rape case? You couldn't walk by a TV without hearing about the stripper who was raped at a party, suddenly the...I don't even know...I guess the charges were dropped? It wasn't 'news'.

Bode crashed a car (apparently NO alcohol was involved) it's news, Bode wins a race and he's still a 'slacker' because he 'failed' at the Olympics. F*** the Press. Seriously, they do WAY more harm than good, and they are IN NO WAY impartial.

Boda; ya gotta love him, always a story behind the story. Of course from what I hear of his basketball style and skills, the bumps and bruises could have come from him doing his Ben Wallace.

That's some pretty crap reporting. Somebody should email the reporters to explain how things work. trackgals@bostonherald.com. Keep us posted...

This is the Boston Herald we're talking about here. It's a half-tabloid, half real newspaper. That's their style of writing. Don't confuse the Herald with the Globe.

uh ... yeah. This column is filled with rumor, innuendo and gossip - it's a gossip column.

They've had em on TV before and to me they come off as that meddling aunt or bored housewife with too much time on the phone ... always talking about Tom Brady's girlfriends and such.

It's Murdoch, whatdoyouwant?

I emailed this to them:
It's apparent to a knowledgable fan and ex-ski racer like myself that you know next to nothing about the sport, hence your ignorant statements about Bode Miller's "downhill slide'. Bode's skiing career is fine. I suggest you stick to reporting on Britney and KFed. -Bez

I would still be interested to know if anyone has confirmed this report other than the Boston Herald.

Did this "incident" even happen?

I looked on google for several days for a report other than the BH and never found one. Shall we say I'm skeptical?

Bode mentioned it in his article on WCSN.com, and it's not what I'd call serious. He also had a few observations about his various results this year. An interesting read.
