Seven Springs Bears gathering - Page 4

A lunch meeting place would be good for those of us coming in late. I may be coming in a little after lunch, so having phone numbers is probably a good thing. I'll exchange mine with any of you in a PM.

Laurel Hill Crazy - I think I already have your phone number. Were you formerly know as Spring Hill Crazy?

Looking forward to Sunday.

Due to an illness in the family, I'm going to have to back out of this gathering. Sorry, guys! I was really looking forward to skiing Seven Springs and meeting everyone.

I have an opening in my schedule...does someone have a room they want to share? i would be coming out Sat night. I will be taking it easy IF I ski on Sunday.

Any takers?

Phil, check your PMs. It's all easy at the Springs, even the trees.

So I just realized that this get together is Sunday not Saturday. I will not be up until the afternoon on Sunday, probably around 1:30 or so. Matt and Tim both have my cell numbers or just look for the Bros outside of the patrol hut at the top of the six pack.

Where do you guys want to meet for lunch how about Emo's Pit to regroup for the afternoon assualt.

I'll be getting there with my party about noon. We're getting the twilight tickets to ski from 1:00 - 10:30, so I should be able to meet you guys about lunch time. Laurel Hill Crazy has my cell phone number - find him and he can call me.

Emo's Pit at 1:00 for a afternoon meet? I'll try to be there. Hey Pierre, you gonna make it?

Laurel Crazie,

Thanks for the heads up on this gathering. As I'm in CO at the moment and arriving home on Sunday I will not be able to make it.

I hope you all have a great time!!! Sounds like the weather is cooperating this time around

I'm booked all day, actually all weekend. So I won't be attending and my cell will be off most of the day. I'll be out there, shout if you see us.

PSIA Sunday Discount

OK,

Called the "powers that be" about the Sunday PSIA discount. I was told that because it is considered a Holiday weekend they "probably" are not giving the discount. I really don't know what that means but I will probably still try anyway.

Can a Seven Springs person help us out here on a definitive answer.

Because it is Presidents Day weekend I am going to have to pass. I will be needed sorely at the local bump and cannot in all good conciousness take that time off. Better luck next time and maybe later in March if the weather holds.

Hey Sam, do you know jd from LM? He'll be doing troller stuff in the morn, some workshop or clinic?

Pierre, I could have figured, all hands on deck for the holiday. Did you ever ski Blue Knob? There are honest tech lines and, not only ice but rocks as well. How does a couple of 28 degree faces sound to you? How does Feb. 25 work for you? Bring fischerman and you both can hassle the liberal. I'm willing to hack it up, how about you?

Hey Pierre

Tromano shot these last weekend before the latest storms and posted on DCSki.com:

Blue Knob

Thanks for the pics, tromano. I'm looking foirward to meeting this Suday. I'd love to join the DCSKI gathering at BK this Saturday but I'm crew chief for my boy's pinewood derby. Maybe you'll meet him too this Sunday.

7Springs was awesome Sunday. I met up with LHC and a few buddies from DCSki who showed up too (Jimmy and JohnL). I understand SrMike was around in the PM but I never did find him sorry. My camera was useless for most of the day as horizontal snow and low visibility. My cell also died around 2PM. Batteries are like crap in the cold.

The only picture I did get was of my line on the 6-pack chair line. Anyone who knows 7S knows how much snow they need for this to be ski able. Coverage was sweet.

I rode that lift with you and SpringsRegular in December and recall seeing stumps and rocks that would take at least 3.5 - 4 feet to fill in that run. We remarked at the time it could be fun...too bad its in a flat state SpringsRegular threatened to take your pass if you ever put tracks on it...

I was there, but man was it a nut house. Sorry I missed most of you. I did get to ski briefly with Laurel Hill Crazy and his daughter though.

We stayed until 9:00. I got hit by out of control skier be the Foggy Goggle sking down to the 6pack. It was a ~13yo on rentals straightlining to the lift. I wasn't skiing slow, but he had to be flying as hard as he hit me. I'm still pretty sore.

The place was really packed. I had regulars tell me they had never seen the lift lines so long. Great job on skiing the lift line. It was pretty well skied out by the time I got there.

I am now sick to my stomach that I didn't join you guys...damn it.

In all my years of skiing 7S I always wondered what type of skier felt compelled to ski the short, mini-boulder strewn, chair line under the six, well now I know. Tromano, you're a blast. I caught first tracks under the Alpine Meadows triple earlier and JohnL from DCSki found some deep on the fence line at the Spot and in what's left of the Meadow's Glades. Tim, did you ever ski Gunnar's briars and brambles?

All in all, one of my best powder days at 7S. Hell even the wild transition from wind/sleet crusted in Yak-Yak to the wind drifted in the leeside pockets where a real blast. Truly a great day, thanks.

By time SrMike came by, we were all scattered and wind frozen. It was nice finally meeting you. Perhaps the next time we can cut loose and ski for more then a few runs.

Pierre, we could have even found some ice by day’s end just for you.

Hey Guys,

I was there but it was packed and I could not make the meet on time. The wind chill was crazy cold and kept me off the north face for most of the day.

However, Phill you would have loved GooseBumps. We had nearly a foot of snow and most of the Gapers were staying out. Those PA Double Black bumps with fresh powder were sweet. Me and my 13 yr old were pounding it well into the night. Great lines everywhere. Most of the gladed areas were wind loaded and we had a blast exploring all day. We put in 8 hrs on that hill and the place really emptied out after 5pm and the wind really died down but the snow kept coming down.

Left about 8:30pm very satisfied.
