Sweet Powder

Bachelor looks great. Just over here in Idaho we got dumped on yesterday from the same storm that hit you. Opening day is tomorrow. Needless to say, I won't be at work. The early season is looking good.

It certainly is the best early season in these parts.
From the Mt. Baker web site: "We set a new record this past week for the most snowfall in one storm cycle in Mt. Baker recorded history. We received 8 feet in 5 days and 12 feet of new snow in one storm cycle. This will be a November to remember."
125 inches of base already.

And 98-99, Thanksgiving was powder 'til you dropped, and it went on so long Bachelor started lying about the depth of new snow. Lots of people can ski 5" of new, 15 offers a challenge.

PhilPug:

The West (as in Cali) ain't fairing much better.

Currently a few resorts are open with 30% of the mountain open (unless you hit Kirkwood where they only have 1 lift running).

I seriously should have gone to Oregon over Thanksgiving!

"125 inches of base already"

WTF!!!!

And to think the Tahoe resorts are touting "20" bases"

:P

I remember losing my car in the parking lot at Stevens Pass some time in December '73. It was a lump of snow, just like all the other ones and I had to dig into several before I found it.
