Rossi has a lot of excellent stuff going on in the tele gear. I just wish it would carry over to their alpine gear....

PS I guess one reason I like these is my first "real" pair of skis was a pair of rossignol smash j's....

I am a line fan boi myself and think that they make some of teh best looking skis on the market.

My favorite First year Line chronics

Line elizabeth(I want this in the 182 size grrr)

Best from Volkl IMO

Cool thread. Just bought a pair of Head IM 72s (glossy orange/red ones from last season). I thought they looked hideous in photos, but in person they look pretty cool I think. I like last year's simple and slightly retro Dynastar Legend graphics and this year's Volkl AC3/AC4s just look mean. For women's skis K2 Burnin Luvs are cool, I know my wife loves them.

PHIL! OH PHIL!
Someone went out of their way to point out the Graphic of that ski. Hmmm... maybe it's not a midwestern thing?

I like these:

I'm sorry, but the ugly ski discussion begins and ends right here:

Nope, these are the true uglyness I just bought them :P

FYI, a "Luder" si German for a slut, tramp, bimbo.
I actually like them much better and think they're graphically superior to the Armada ARW.

However, I can't believe Icelantic hasn't come up yet! Speaking of true artistic value, they even have their own gallery.
Their new graphics are way cool, too bad I don't have any on file yet...

WOW Ghost, I want a set of Voodoo Childs NOW- that way I could have Hendrix in my ears AND on my feet!! With a 97 waist, I wonder how they would stack up with, say, a pair of Mantras? Those Scotty Bobs look like you'd see them mostly at Beaver Creek, riding the escalator- if somebody scratched one in the liftline on me, I'd have to kill them! Damn, I was previously under the impression that the Dyanstad Legend Pro Rider is the coolest looking ski, but that Voodoo Child is freakin SWEET! How much? 950 Euro? I think that translates into an arm, a leg, and my middle nut. My only question is why it takes a swede to do something dope like make a Jimi line of skis?
wow I've been salivating over those Voodoo Childs since I saw 'em... I can't believe they have a 15m turning radius in a 172 w/ a 97 waist!!! I'm checking to see the current price for a kidney on the black market, cuz I got two of 'em and no Voodoos... and that just ain't right...

I kind of agree with both takes. I like that graphics have gotten a bit edgier b/c skiing need a bit of a face lift. I also agree that, in some cases, its gone way to far and they do look like a bad elementary school art project. I like the artwork on 4frnt and line skis--particularly how you can lay all the skies in one line side-by-side to form a mural...I think that's creative. Often times, it will create a beautiful picture of the mtns. or an outdoor scene. In the end, however, I look down the mountain rather than at my skis when I'm actually skiing and I want a board that really performs well. Graphics are icing on the cake and not a part at all of my decision making process.

Ski graphics are getting pretty cool these days. You can even "have it your way."

A classic beauty. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the red accents really set off the basic black...

A beast any way you look at it...

There seems to be a few threads brought back from the dead lately. Meh, I'll throw in my vote:

"Luder" in Swedish means the same as in German (yay! - expanding my language skills!). "Puder" means Powder. So in other words "Puder Luder is "Powder Slut"...: So the name is certainly applicabe - although the quality of the top sheet can certainly be discussed...

For really pretty skis check out Sterling skis:

Perfect if you like a skinnier "all-mountain" ski - and happen to have $3K to spend....

My current ski, and the only decent looking ski in their lineup:

Salomon XW Lab. I love the black fade graphics with the skull, very subtle.

Isn't it sad that skis have to be sold for looks rather than performance. Or is it that they all perform the same, so that's the only way to differentiate.

10/10.

Right skis, wrong version. I much prefer this one:

These are my skis and I think they are pretty cool- ice blue tones , butterfly wings- fly and be free!!
I bought the skis for what they can do and how they suit me and the graphics were a bonus!!
They are a few years old now but I still really like the graphic design.

JayPowHound wins thread. Ugliest skis so far by a long shot.

Man, those things are hideous. Looks like they'd be right at home between the "Dogs Playing Poker" and a velvet Elvis painting.
