With over 3,000 registered members, I'm curious as to why so many lurkers lurk.
I don't post much in the technical threads, because I am not a technical skier. With so many "experts" here, I don't have a whole lot to say in most of the threads, but I read and learn.
The same with gear. What can a person contribute who buys skis at the swap for under $50, and that constitutes new skis? I will never buy a pair of new skis at the $600-$1,000 prices that I am seeing in the ski mags, so the best I can do is pick the pair with the best edges and bases at the ski swaps.
Travel is tough right now, I won't be at the Utah gathering, and don't get to ski all the good stuff most of the posters do. So I have little to nothing to contribute there, but again, I lurk and live vicariously through their posts and dream of real live snow instead of man made...........snow.
This is why it seems like I only post silly junk. Perhaps some lurkers are like me and don't have a whole lot of experience of knowledge to share? For me, it goes back to my junior high school days...a freshman in a room full of seniors won't say a whole lot for fear of being thought of as dumb. I feel like a freshman here, but learning a LOT!
What about it lurkers? Care to share why you don't share? :
