I'm considering a wider ski for trips out west that would still be usable in the east.

Me 175 lbs, 6'1", 46 years old, male, skiing for 25 years, 20 -30 days per season. Ski woods, steeps, some bumps, ski mostly at MRG, Jay.

Current skis Elan 662 in 168. I love these in all conditions I ski.

Looking at the Elan 777. I'm leaning toward the 184 length. Should this work? or should I consider the 176. Before buying into the shaped ski/short ski movement in 2001 I was on Salomon 9000s in PR7 (a 194 length) which I liked.
