Unexpected outage and upgrade.

Thread Starter
Sorry about the outage Saturday. All of a sudden the system was getting database errors so I took the system down to do repair it.

I figured since I had to shut down to run a database repair, I did the 3.6.3 upgrade at the same time.

Please report any unusual behavior here. I just fixed the image resize function.

Anyone see anything else?

The tabs at the top of the page are messed up. Firefox 2.0 in OS X.

ummmm . The high contrast?

Yeah, it looks like all the typical templates are messed up, again. I wish we could find a way to have them work over the upgrade boundaries... :

Thanks, Chris. All of the customization in appearance is pretty much blown up by upgrades. I'm not sure why. As soon as we can, we'll get jstraw to tweak 'em back for us and see if we can figure out how to make them not break in the future. Sorry all...

Ihate to be a whiner but the low contrast is really hard to read. I type so poorly and when I can't read the screen the mistakes just pile up. I know you guys are working on this .Just in case it slipped your mind.

I restored the style selections. Today I will try and implement a fix so that I never have to worry about version upgrades breaking that again. In other words, I'm going to try and correct something I did wrong back in May.

I just got changed to a completely "white" background in viewing forums, I'm guessing something to do with contrast change.
's OK now.
I'm in a world of white, too, and, unfortunately, it's not skiable.
It is kinda weird, sort of a cyberspace white out, disorienting, have to feel your way down the page.
Oh well, thanks dchan and jstraw for all the hard work.

I went to the bottom of the page, changed to "2006 Style", then changed back to "2006 lower-contrast Style," and then everything was right in the world again.
All should be well now. I'm still flummoxed, finding a permanant fix for this issue. If anyone isn't seeing the style of their choice...try a shift-reload to clear the old page from the cache.

Good work, J. I hate to sound like I am complaining but I am really trying to offer feeback for your information. Please accept it as such

The contrast thing seems to generate the most disturbed posts! Maybe a note about it somewhere, like 'the contrast-change control is at the bottom of the page!" would empower people to fix it.

ant, those settings were broken after the upgrade until jstraw was able to make them compatible with the upgrade's templates. He's trying to figure out how to structure the custom templates so that he doesn't have to do this every time we upgrade vBulletin...
